[edit]Fouled
[edit]Is there a record for most pitches pitched in a row resulting in foul balls? 71.146.10.213 (talk) 02:34, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- That's not a stat that's kept by the record keepers. For some stories and legends on the subject, I recommend that you google [record for foul balls in mlb]. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 02:45, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- No official hits. 71.146.10.213 (talk) 05:36, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- It's not an official record, so there wouldn't be any. It's "anecdotal". Nowadays there's a lot of attention paid to pitch count, so in recent years those kinds of numbers might be available - but still not by any official source, because it's not a stat that really means anything. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 12:13, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

- According to our article on Roy Thomas (outfielder), noted baseball statistician Bill James considers him the unofficial record holder with 22 consecutive foul balls in one at-bat. That's not precisely what you asked (it's possible, for example, for one player to hit 15 foul balls, be called out on the 15th when it is caught in foul territory, and be followed by a batter who hits another 14 foul balls, which would be more "pitches pitched in a row resulting in foul balls" than Roy hit), but I think you may have to take it as the closest thing to an answer readily available.
