[edit]Song/artist that has typewriter playing in the whole song??
[edit]I heard this song and the only thing I remember from it is that the spoken word lyrics are about a couple who correspond by letters then meet, walk down a beach and then part. The sound of a typewriter plays through the whole song. The guy's accent is Scottish, although the band could be Canadian (or singer/songwriter). 68.175.69.134 03:02, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- This obviously isn't it (hence why I am I referring to it? - sheer innate antipodean perverseness, I guess), but Leroy Anderson's piece The Typewriter has a typewriter playing throughout it. -- JackofOz 03:11, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's by Looper, an offshoot of Belle and Sebastian, and is called "Impossible Things". I recall it being played on the John Peel Show in about 1999. 80.254.147.52 12:17, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Also obviously not it, but worth a mention, 9 to 5. DuncanHill 13:19, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- That was a really cool song. Thank you for the topic, User:68.175.69.134|68.175.69.134. Beekone 16:31, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
What song is this?
[edit]I was playing Counter Strike Source a few hours ago and there was a nice techno/trance style song on the stream. All I can remember was a female singer, with the repeating chorus "and I feel that it seems you may feel like I do" (a mouthful of a sentence, to be sure).
Googling the lyrics have come up with absolutely nothing. Anyone know the title of this song? -Wooty [Woot?] [Spam! Spam! Wonderful spam!] 09:18, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Could it not be something that came with the game and was made by the companies theme music department? SGGH speak! 11:41, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it be more likely to have been serverside and then downloaded and played when you connected? Any chance you could ask someone on the server? If it's a clan or private server then you might be able to identify some of the regulars / owners and ask them. Lanfear's Bane 15:34, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- yeah man, go back to the server and there should be a list of songs somewhere. the line seems familiar to me (I'm a trance fan) but a LOT of songs say very similar things... good luck! 12.155.80.115 15:40, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

- The stream was off-site, trust me, it even said OFF-SITE at the top and had a WMP bar where it loaded in an IE window. -Wooty [Woot?] [Spam! Spam! Wonderful spam!] 23:17, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Name of a TV show/gnome-like creature
[edit]Back in the 1990s there was a kids' TV cartoon show in the US about some small creatures that looked more or less like the first gnome pictured on the gnomes page. I think they lived inside hollow trees in a forest and wore pointy hats, and I remember that one of them rode around on a fox now and then. They weren't called gnomes but I can't remember what they were called. I think the name of the show was the same as the name of their species. Does anyone remember that show or know what the species might be called? Philbert2.71828 18:11, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well maybe they were called gnomes after all. That was the TV show I was thinking of. I don't know why I thought they were named something else... I thought the name of the show was a single word like "Gnomes" except they weren't called that. Maybe that was a different show (anyone know which one?), or maybe I just made that part up sometime over the years. Anyway thanks for your answer. Philbert2.71828 18:46, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'll traverse the Halls of Nickelodeon Memory anyday, Philbert. Gotta love childhood stuff like that. Did anyone else pretend to be sick just so they could watch David the Gnome? Maybe Danger Mouse? Count Duckula? Pinwheel? Beekone 19:12, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Were you confusing the show you were thinking of with The Smurfs? - Saruman 04:02, 20 September 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.166.25.82 (talk)
Only Fools and Horses
[edit]in only fools and horses, what was the other block of flats called opposite nelson mandela house? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewbrazil (talk • contribs) 21:52, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Search as I might, I couldn't find a reference to the name of the other block of flats. Finally, I found this page that states "Junee lives in an (unnamed) neighbouring block of flats on the same estate." 152.16.16.75 10:06, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- One of the other blocks of flats definitely has a name, and it's something ludicrous. I cannot remember what it is, though. Check out the episode where Rodney starts going out with a girl he (met in the newsagents?), Del realises her mum's an old flame of his who lives in the neighbouring tower block, then after a bit of maths starts thinking he might be the father (so Rodney would be dating his own niece). It might be mentioned in that episode. (Just had a look, the episode's called "Happy Returns" and the girl was called Debbie). Neil ム 09:56, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
