Searching for an Anime/Cartoon television programme...[edit]

Hey guys. When I was around 9 /12 years old, I can remember watching an anime/cartoon series that usually aired on weekends.

I used to love the programme, but can unfortunately remember very little about it. The basic concept was of a number of children (maybe...5 of them?) having adventures in and around a mildly futuristic city on the coast. One of the children, I think, was very rich, and lived a somewhat secluded life on an artificial island just off the coast. I can remember that the island was somehow domed, or had a large domed room covered in glass.

I remember the city has these awesome looking (or so I thought at the time) monorail/el-rail tracks, and these really cool futuristic (though nothing wildly futuristic) cars.

The story seemed to be set around 20 years from now. The drawing style was pretty good, it looked kinda like Americanized anime (sorta like Avatar: The Last Airbender)

I can only really remember clearly one of the episodes; it involved one of the gang (a black kid - not being racist, its just a feature I remember) and his little brother following their farther one day. The family was quite poor, but the father had been getting income from somewhere. The kids eventually realise that the father is secretly playing (I think) a jazz style of music, with a brass instrument of some kind, at a bar to earn money.

That’s about all I can remember…

I live in the UK, so the programme was probably an American repeat (it certainly was not set in Britain). It would air on one of those programmes where they showcase a number of kids television shows, as well as other things. I used to watch it from around 1999 to 2004. Can’t be any more specific than that I’m afraid.

I’ve searched Wikipedia and IMDB a number of time; but since I can’t remember the title or any of the characters name’s, its somewhat impossible.

I would love some help in the matter; I’ve been searching for this series for months…

Which channel did you watch it on; if it was one of the mainstream channels like BBC or ITV, it shouldn't be too hard to find, while if it's on a channel with lots of animé, like Jetix or Toonami, it could be much more difficult. Also, would you say that the target audience was younger children (up to 9-10), or older children (10+), and boys or girls? A lot of kids animé is split down these lines, between kodomo and shōnen/shōjo. La ï ka 21:04, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh, I can't remember. It was on either BBC or ITV (back then we didn't have any digital). On one of those kids programmes that had a kid audience and that had, like, sketches and games betweens shows (Like SMTV_Live). It seemed targeted at ages 9-11...though some of the stories I remember being kinda deep and complex. Not much to go on, I know. But it was a while back, and I've totally forgotten most of it (and I guess it doesn't help that I was probably half asleep when watching it). 80.189.113.245

Who covered "Feliz Navidad"[edit]

On the PA system in a shop I was in yesterday, they were playing a rock/metal cover of the song "Feliz Navidad". I've been trying to find the artist who recorded this cover, but the only artists I can find who've covered it are all women, while the song definitely has male vocals. It's not the original I don't think; the version on the linked YouTube video is accoustic, while the song I heard used fairly heavily distorted guitar. La ï ka 21:00, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
