Multiple frames run simultaneously within a single WebSocket connection?

[edit]

I've got a website which uses a third-party component that uses WebSockets. Using Chrome's debugger tools, I can see the websocket connection and the frames that are sent within that connection. I understand that websockets use full-duplex communication, so incoming and outgoing communication can happen at the same time. My question is whether more than one frame of communication can be sent in the same direction at the same time? For example, if the client sends 2 frames of communication to the server, are the frames sent back-to-back or or can they overlap? P.S. Just to clarify, I'm asking about frames within a single websocket connection, not multiple websocket connections. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 14:26, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help. My sound is gone on my laptop. Sound unit gone after recent Windows update ?? I don't even know what hit me...

[edit]

My laptop is suddenly without sound !!!! Sound worked just fine last night. Now, when I turned on the laptop, it is gone. All related screens/bars now claim I have no sound unit on my laptop…

I have no idea what is happening. Anti virus is run and there seems to be no problems on that front, and I've tried to restart laptop to see if any changes, but no... The one thing that is noteworthy is that I had an automatic windows 10 update last night when I turned off the laptop. I clicked start to turn off as usual, then I saw an update was ready and I clicked "update and turn off", as usual. My battery was full, so there is no danger of the update having been interrupted by running out of battery. There is every reason to think that the install was completed. What do I do? How do I proceed? How do I get my sound back? How do I reinstall a sound unit on my laptop, if that is what I must do (I hope not) ??? If necessary, how do I return the computer to its previous state, as in before the automatic windows update??

I've had difficulty uploading images on Wikipedia before, and for some reason it doesn't work now either, so I'll try to describe the two images I was planning to upload; one image of the sound logo down in right corner of desktop, showing a red logo with an x inside it atop the sound logo, showing the sound is dead. Right-clicking the logo to search for errors yields no result. Opening the control-panel or whatever they call it these days and entering sound also shows the sound is dead and does not allow me to click any options or search for errors as the buttons are greyed out...

Help ?

I had a similar problem, but a reboot fixed it. You may ahve to look up your laptop's website to see if there are drivers for Windows 10 to install the sound. However you should expect the installation to detect and pick the right driver. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:17, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. No luck on their website though. Seems I will need to take the laptop to someone who knows about this stuff and get it rebooted. Krikkert7 (talk) 10:05, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
