Will a PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card work with a PCI Express 2.0 x16

[edit]

Now I have come to know that my Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT has just died. My motherboard is Gigabyte EP43 UD3L which supports PCI Express 2.0 x16. I have been using my system for 4 years. I am looking for new graphics card that will support my mobo, but unfortunately almost all of the graphics card are PCI 3.0 supported. Right now, I am looking for cards from my own country's computer shop from here and here. Is it possible to get gaming graphics card for my system? Thank you--180.211.153.220 (talk) 15:12, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. My PSU is Thermaltake 750 watt. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.211.153.220 (talk) 15:21, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you can. PCIe 3.0 is backwards compatible with PCIe 2.0 24.72.37.17 (talk) 22:23, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
