Wikipedia:Public figure or establishment discussion policy
Appearance
This policy- or process-related proposal is in the brainstorming stage. Accordingly, please allow an opportunity for it to evolve based on input provided by users. This tag should be replaced with the {{historical}} or {{proposed}} tag if the proposal goes a lengthy spell without major changes. The latter is appropriate if a specific proposal emerges that appears ready for advertisement and debate followed by adoption or rejection by the community. |
This proposal seeks to add a disclaimer to Wikipedia talk pages which says:
This page is used for the discussion of [name]'s encyclopedic article, the messages on this talk page will not be forwarded to [person or establishment].
Reason
[edit]Sometimes, a viewer may assume that a Wikipedia article is connected to a company or person, so they will edit the talk page thinking these messages will be read by that company or person. For example on the Talk:United States Secretary of Education.
