Wikipedia:Portal peer review/Video games/archive1

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was thinking of nominating this portal for featured status some time soon, and wanted some thoughts. Namely, whether more images are needed, and whether the "news" section should be updated more often, although I'd appreciate any comments :). • You can add a DYK section. We have a lot of articles displayed in the main page very often.
  • The picture and FA section can be updated as well. (Picture was last updated in 2009 and the FA part was lasted updated in 2013)
  • I have been maintaining the news portion since June last year. I don't really see the need o updating it more often given that there isn't a lot of significant gaming news. I am not inclined to add game's announcements unless they are announced during important exhibitions like TGS, Gamescom, E3, PSX etc.

I changed my mind on video game release. I decided to leave a row for brand new video game announcement every month. @Omni Flames: Are you still working on the portal? AdrianGamer (talk) 12:34, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Towards the bottom, where it has the taskforces, some aren't listed, such as the Indie task force.
  • As AdrianGamer said, a DYK section would be a nice addition.
  • The dates in the "In this month" section should probably be changed from "YYYY-MM-DD" to "DD MM YYYY".

I was also looking at this portal and wondering why no one had mentioned the possibility of being featured. Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:17, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
