I've listed this article for peer review because I'm aiming to get it to featured list status by September this year, and I want to get some feedback before I nominate it. The goal is to make this TFL on 25 October 2024 (the Friday closest to the twenty-first anniversary of their self-titled debut). I'd love some feedback on the lead section specifically, but if there's anything problematic with the rest of the article, let me know.

[edit]- Put a hard space between numbers (numeral or spelled out) and their subject e.g. nine studio albums Done
- Long-term members or founding mainstays should be mentioned earlier. Probably in second paragraph. The content in final paragraph on band membership is confusing. "The original lineup disbanded" and "the new lineup was cemented" implies complete change, whereas two founders remain throughout. Done
- Check tense "would also leave the band" have they left? Done
- "the role of bassist filled by Yuri Pavlinov" WP:UNDUE? Pavlinov was a touring member for about a year. Not significant enough for the Lead. Done
- Check all usage of "song" or "songs" implies vocals, otherwise use "track" or "tracks". Done
- Words to avoid: "spawned" Done
- Change jazz/funk to jazz, funk.
- Partially implemented Changed to "jazz and funk".
- Acceptable.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:11, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- Partially implemented Changed to "jazz and funk".
- Reduced redundancies e.g. "has scored two number-one albums" vs "their second album to top the charts" Done
- "It was their lowest-charting album to date," Some albums may have charted lower but are not shown in the top 100? Also consider WP:UNDUE: not particularly significant. Done
- Consider "first independent release" for 2013 studio album. However, The Sun (2002) and Tapes, Breaks and Out-Takes (2003) are both described as independent.
- Done Changed to "their sixth album and first major independent release".
- I've had a go at this too. shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:11, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- Done Changed to "their sixth album and first major independent release".
- "a compilation of concert recordings". Is Live on Earth a live album or a compilation album? shaidar cuebiyar
- Done Changed "a compilation of concert recordings" to "which compiles concert recordings", which makes it more clear that it is not a proper compilation album.
- I've changed "compiles" to "collects"shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 02:49, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Done Changed "a compilation of concert recordings" to "which compiles concert recordings", which makes it more clear that it is not a proper compilation album.
Albums section
- Separate columns for Sales and Certifications. If no actual sales can be verified drop that column.
- Adjust heading to "List of studio albums, with selected details, selected chart positions, sales figures and certifications" or similar
- As much as possible have column widths of same named columns in successive tables at same size. Done
- Adjust end note "denotes releases that did not chart." Lead tells us that Two Shoes is "their first international release". Done
- Check all "–" vs "-" in columns.
- How are Demo albums significant enough for inclusion? Check DISCOGSTYLES Done Removed.
- Disambiguate which album is referred to at Notes: "A compilation of outtakes from The Cat Empire," Done
- What's Tunes for Change? Some short description required e.g. not-for-profit or charity Done
- Combine $ and AUD e.g. [[Australian dollar|AU$]] Done
- Why aren't all singles in one chart? Done
- feat. > featuring Done
- Delete unnecessary "(Live from Melbourne, December 2021)" from title column. Its already there in Album title. Done
- In Singles table reword Note A:
"Hello" was released as a radio promotional single and was ineligible to chart in Australia in 2003
Implies it was a radio promotional single everywhere but only ineligible in Australia. Also fix table's end note "were" instead of "was" Done
References
- Recheck all refs (including multiple refs) for dead links. Use archive-urls where possible. Done
- All releases should be verified by reliable independent sources. The group's/member's websites, record labels or album liner notes are not independent. More to follow.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 07:26, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- Is MusicBrainz considered a reliable source for releases? SupremeLordBagel (talk to me) 03:49, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- I'd prefer WorldCat: here shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 07:44, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Is MusicBrainz considered a reliable source for releases? SupremeLordBagel (talk to me) 03:49, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Fix the maintenance issue at any cite AV media notes templates.
- Fix refs per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Titles of works including entries at title=. Use italics for albums, single quotes for 'song titles' and appropriate capitalisation. Done 22:11, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
Additional content
- Add Music videos table: consider 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 02:37, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the resources! This one's a little complicated, because I have been working on adding this (see here), but I wasn't able to find out who directed many of these videos. Do you know where I could find information about this? (Also please note that I will add references to the most recently released three videos in this list.) Thanks, SupremeLordBagel (talk to me) 03:10, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Start at Official YouTube channel but try to find confirmation elsewhere. shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 03:16, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, I specifically meant their early videos. If you look at the description for "Hello", for example, there isn't any information about the director(s). SupremeLordBagel (talk to me) 03:52, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- You seem to be doing better at finding directors than I am. I had a look at "Hello" 's audio version but only found producers, engineers, performers. shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 05:04, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

- Consider Triple J Hottest 100, 2003#DVD Release, which includes the music video. But I can't find any written details.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 05:19, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- I've just found some information about the directors for both "Hello" and "The Chariot" here (see Insert - Inlay.jpg) - in the box art for a Canadian re-release of Two Shoes. That took a while! SupremeLordBagel (talk to me) 07:06, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Good work, probably use a cite AV media notes template. shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:36, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Partially implemented I've added a music videos table, but it's incomplete. I'm still looking around for the directors of those last four videos, and I've asked around on the Cat Empire's fan community on Facebook, but no luck yet. SupremeLordBagel (talk to me) 11:02, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hope it works out for you. I'll leave the rest to you, enjoy. shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 23:09, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
