Wikipedia:Peer review/Classic Tetris World Championship/archive1

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've listed this article for peer review because I want to get it to GA status.

I believe the lead is too long and too many paragraphs. You may have an issue with conciseness for GA status, and some of that info may need to be moved to the body if it's not in the body, and cited as well (the seventh paragraph in the lead seems to be uncited). There seems to be a lot of original research in the article, actually; the section on similar events needs cleanup and is mostly unreferenced. Several of the section titles are very wordy, for example "Official Classic Tetris World Championship global stops".
I think the main problem you're gonna have for GA at this time is the verifiability. Any statement that is likely to be challenged needs a reliable citation, and it looks to me like the article has significant amounts of original research that will need to be addressed. A lot of the language also may need rewriting to be more encyclopaedic, and check for formal language and tone. Keep direct quotes to a minimum. And about the sourcing, use reliable secondary coverage of the tournament where possible, as primary sources will be more difficult to work with and there seem to be many used in the article. Just some thoughts. Good luck with developing the article! StewdioMACK (talk) 17:23, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have access to WP:LIBRARY, so hopefully it won't be that hard to find sources for the article. — lunaeclipse(talk) 20:56, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
