About the event

[edit]

This is a joint event between Wikimedia UK and the British Museum. The event will focus on editing Wikipedia articles about the objects in the Waddesdon Bequest, to coincide with the opening of the new room for the Bequest, and the publication of a new book by the curator, Dora Thornton. Some people will remember meeting Dora for coffee in 2012 after she facilitated a group visit to the British Museum exhibition Shakespeare: Staging the World which she had curated.

There will be a tour of the new display, before it opens to the public, and a chance to talk to British Museum experts about the collection

There will/will not be opportunities for photography on the tour. The BM will be releasing some of its images, for new and existing articles. Good sources will be available.

Lunch; We are grateful to our hosts the British Museum for providing lunch, there will be both vegetarian and non vegetarian food.

After the event most of us will move o to the GLobe in ? street for a beer or two.

How do I prepare?
