Resources

[edit]
use: {{subst:UMass edit-a-thon}}
How?
  • Do you already know the Wikipedia page you’d like to edit? If you know what needs to be changed or added, be prepared to cite your sources. Since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, any content or editing needs to follow conventions of neutrality and to cite published sources. Original research cannot be used. For more information, see: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Five_pillars
  • Want to contribute but don’t have a specific page in mind? Great! We will have a list of people and works on hand for you.
  • Want to contribute but can’t make it? Please get this information out to as many people as possible! Send suggestions for Wikipedia pages that need to be added or edited to jmburrel [at] english.umass.edu with a one-sentence description of the person or topic, or add their names to http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/UMass Amherst/1.

Questions?
  • Contact Julie (jmburrel [at] english.umass.edu)

What to bring
  • a laptop (but we'll have some if you don't)
  • ideas for articles, and supporting references for the article content
  • a friend or two! Bring along other people -- it's more fun and more productive too.

Attending

possible attendees

[edit]
where do you need a carpool to/from? --Lquilter (talk) 19:31, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I can get to anywhere that can be reached on the regular Boston T (i.e. the red, blue, green, orange, and silver lines), so whatever works best for potential carpoolers in that respect. Sven Manguard Wha? 01:31, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I know some other Boston people may be interested in participating virtually, so even if you can't get a ride out here, that may be an option. We could perhaps have a couple of computers set up to conference people in. --Lquilter (talk) 18:23, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I might attend. Seems pretty fun to meet some of y'all wikipedians face to face and discuss some of these issues for real.--NWA.Rep (talk) 02:03, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
