Details
[edit]Join the Black Archives of Mid-America and the Kansas City Public Library to celebrate the history of Kansas City Women’s Basketball and the WBA with the History of the WBA: Wiki Edit-a-Thon. We will focus on improving and creating Wikipedia articles on the rich history of the WBA using resources from The Black Archives of Mid-America’s collection. Lightning Mitchell, founder of the WBA and author of The Untold Story of the WBA, will be a featured speaker.
We recommend that participants create Wikipedia accounts before the event begins through this link. There will be training provided for new editors, as well as space for questions. The event will be virtual with a hub for participation at The Black Archives of Mid-America for participants who need access to wifi and laptops.
No Wikipedia experience necessary.To participate you don’t need specialized knowledge of these topics or of Wikipedia. Please create a free user account on wikipedia.org before the event.
