Assignments
[edit]If you assign a case to another mediator (for example to the submitter of a case who is willing to act as a mediator) the recommended procedure is to mark the case in the case list as "assigned mediator: (user)". and leave a short message on his or her talk page, for example Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Assignment.

If you assign cases to others it is good style to check back if the assignment was accepted and, in case of new mediators, if the mediation is working. If you feel you need to give hints you can add polite comments to the mediation case or talk page or contact the mediator directly, if you feel your comments might be inappropriate as a part of the discussion.
