Project
WikiProject Atlanta Braves was founded on October 12, 2011, and was revived on September 20, 2022 to record, preserve, and organize the history of the Atlanta Braves and that of all articles related to the team on Wikipedia. This project follows the guidelines set forth by our parent project, WikiProject Baseball. If you think you can make a positive contribution to the project, please feel free to become a member by joining the list of members. If you're looking for guidance on where to begin, or if you have any ideas or comments, you can address the project's discussion forum.
Recent Braves News
September 27, 2023 - Ronald Acuña Jr. steals two bases in a 6–5 victory over the Chicago Cubs, becoming the first player in MLB history to have a 40/70 season.
November 16, 2023 - Ronald Acuña Jr. is named the National League MVP, winning in unanimous fashion. Acuña Jr. became the eighth player in franchise history to receive the honor and the first since Freddie Freeman in 2020.
March 29, 2024 - Entering the 2024 season with high expectations, the Braves began the season by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies on Opening Day by a score of 9–3. Trailing early, the Braves railled in the eighth inning, posting seven runs in the top of the frame, capped off by a three-RBI double off the bat of Matt Olson. Atlanta would go on to take the series in a three-game set.
Scope
An article falls under the scope of this WikiProject if it entails anything directly related to the Braves franchise from the year 1871 to the present day (i.e. players, managers, seasons, playoff series, etc). This includes all events of the following teams:
  • Atlanta Braves (1966–present)
  • Milwaukee Braves (1953–1965)
  • Boston Braves (1941–1952)
  • Boston Bees (1936–1940)
  • Boston Braves (1912–1935)
  • Boston Rustlers (1911)
  • Boston Doves (1907–1910)
  • Boston Beaneaters (1883–1906)
  • Boston Red Caps (1876–1882)
  • Boston Red Stockings (1871–1876)
Tasks & Goals

Tasks

  • Maintain the current season article, 2024 Atlanta Braves season.
  • Use the {{WikiProject Baseball}} project template to tag talk pages of all Braves related articles, rating their quality and importance for our specific project. Utilize the WikiProject Baseball template page for an explanation on how to do this.
  • Improve every individual season article of the franchise from 1871 to 2024.
  • Upload free-use pictures relating to the Braves franchise to Wikimedia Commons[1]. This includes photos of current and former players, managers, stadiums, and anything else that could be incorporated into an article within our scope.
  • Translate or create Braves articles for other languages (such as Spanish).
  • Quickly revert or undo any vandalism made to a Braves related article.
  • Improve overall syntax and grammar in any related article.
  • Provide more citations to any related article.
