Removing an image from articles prior to nominating them is frowned upon. Unused images can be speedy deleted. This image is in use. Which image or images are to be used on the article is an editorial decision and has nothing to do with IFD. -- Cat ^chi? 00:29, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Meant no harm in removing the image. Only removed it because there was already another image depicting the same subjects, and we are supposed to use the least amount of non-free use images as possible. I am the copyright holder/photographer and I've thought better of offering this photo via the free license(s) Wikipedia requires. Unsure how to request deletion, and didn't really anticipate there needing to be any discussion on the matter. Ageekgal 01:50, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Obsoleted by T'Pol.jpg - reuploaded exact same image with title more suitable, as the title before, simply Jolene Blalock, didn't imply that it was a screecap of a character she portrayed. The image has not been changed at all, simply rennamed. Ejfetters 07:15, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphan, inaccurate, poorly licensed/sourced. According to http://nobel.scas.bcit.ca/resource/ptable/cf.htm this is an image of the compound californium oxychloride, not the element, so I removed this image from the element's page and it's now an orphan. As evidence, http://pubs.acs.org/cen/80th/californium.html indicates the element is a silvery metal, so it would not be white in powdered form. I'm also uncertain about the licensing to the DOE because the source leads to a school web page.

Possible Speedy as this is a re-upload of the image deleted per Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2007 October 2#Image:Gardner-maguire.jpg. As with that case, the image runs counter to the information here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/copyright#Images which cannot be "fair use" and the underlying principle of not using material copied from existing encyclopedias and encyclopedia-like works. Essentially identical to the original album cover for Hybrid Theory except with "Special Edition" written on it [1]. Adds absolutely nothing to the article other than a second copyrighted image (which could be argued is replaceable by the original album cover). Possible Speedy delete.
