- A very similar question was asked yesterday ("Username correction") - as then, the answer is to see here. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 10:19, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Foydster: The destinationa account already exists – see: Floydster (talk · contribs · logs · block log)
CiaPan (talk) 10:36, 24 October 2022 (UTC)- @Foydster That other account only made two edits globally, in 2006, one of which was to create a User Page, so you may be able to WP:USURPNAME. See that link for instructions. Mike Turnbull (talk) 10:41, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Michael D. Turnbull and Foydster: But a renaming admin may request a proof that both accounts belong to the same person: Wikipedia:Changing username/Guidelines#Additional guidelines for usurpation requests. --CiaPan (talk) 10:52, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Michael D. Turnbull In order to ensure that usurped usernames be put to good use, we prefer only to grant requests from reasonably well-established users. —MdsShakil (talk) 14:40, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

top grossing tours of all time
[edit]Wikipedia,
I don't have an account and previously tried to edit on the top grossing tours of all time but my edit was removed by someone. Billy Joel In Concert tour is on the top grossing tours of the 2010s but not in the top 20 top grossing tours of all time. In addition on the top grossing tours of the 1980s is missing Genesis 1986-1987 Invisible Touch tour that grossed $60 million.
Sincerely,
Kurt 2605:6000:3FC0:15:9021:3F10:D8A3:3438 (talk) 15:31, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

Switch filename request between 2 new uploaded files
[edit]Hello! I upload 2 images, but accidentaly I switched the file names. So the story in the picture A is the story of picture B and story of picture B is the story of picture A. Could you switch me?
Thank you!

- @OrionNimrod Only admins on Commons can alter filenames. However, I think that an easier solution would be for you to delete the files entirely and start again, giving them a much simpler filename than the incredibly long ones used currently. You can use {{Db-author}} placed at the top of a file's page and it will be deleted in due course. Take a copy, if you don't already have one, for uploading after the deletion (the system won't let you upload a duplicate file). Mike Turnbull (talk) 14:02, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer! OrionNimrod (talk) 16:11, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
How do I translate an article from an other Language Wikipedia to English Wikipedia via the Import function?
[edit]Dear Community,
How do I translate an article from an other Language Wikipedia to English Wikipedia via the Import function? I know there is a function like this the other way around, but I can't find it to translate a german article to english? Can anyone provide me with a link to a "How to Page" for this kind of task?
Thank you very much! Marianne Marianne Fischer (talk) 17:35, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, Marianne Fischer. The content translation tool is disabled for newer editors. (See that link for the explanation). ColinFine (talk) 17:41, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello CollinFine, thank you for your fast reply. Is there another option/tool I can use as a User who hasn't edited more than 500 articles already? Marianne Fischer (talk) 18:27, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello again, Marianne. That is the only (semi-)automatic tool, as far as I know; but you are welcome to translate manually. Please see WP:Translation. ColinFine (talk) 20:37, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! This is what I was looking for! :) Happy to do it manually. Thank you and have a great week Marianne Fischer (talk) 20:44, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
