February 12

[edit]

The new New England Monthly dates should be at the top of the page along with the original New England Monthly.

New England Monthly was a magazine published in Haydenville, Massachusetts, from 1984 to 1990. In May 2014 an unrelated magazine New England Monthly launched in print and online in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beckvela (talkcontribs) 15:27, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The subject of the article is the magazine which ceased publication in 1990. The other magazine is briefly mentioned near the bottom of the article. Maproom (talk) 15:33, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sticky AfD entry

[edit]

The AfD for Kenny Biddle has somehow managed to get stuck in the Science & Tech AfD list, despite the article having been deleted since. Possibly because it went through a review and got an extra bit of code. Anyone know how to remove the entry? I don't want to go poking into unknown category corners here. Cheers --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 15:47, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The category was added manually so I removed it manually.[1] AfD categories are normally added by {{REMOVE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN CLOSING THIS AfD}} which has a telling name. By the way, you can place a colon in front of a category to make an inline link instead of categorising the page: Category:AfD debates (Science and technology). Ah, rings a bell. Thanks. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 16:40, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute resolution

[edit]

From time to time there have been edits/reverts on the nationality of an actor, Kalki Koechlin, owing to conflicting sources (and lack of more and better sources). The issue has been discussed by a handful of editors at the talk page and another editor's talk page, but without any consensus. As this wouldn't qualify at WP:THIRD, would the dispute resolution be an ideal place to take this discussion to even though none of those involved have taken a firm stand as to cause disruptive editing? Thanks, MT TrainDiscuss 15:52, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mark the train: Yes. When you can't get consensus, then follow the guidance at WP:DR for next steps. RudolfRed (talk) 17:58, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Glen Selbo.

[edit]

Coach Selbo was my Math teacher and Baseball coach at Midland High School in 1959-1960. Our Baseball team won our District, Bi-District and Regional Championship and when to the District 4-A Baseball Championship in Austin,Texas. Coach was extraordinary math teacher and an outstanding baseball coach. He had previously suffered from many bouts of Mononucleosis which handicapped his physical abilities. A truly fine gentlemen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JudgeggmII (talkcontribs) 21:03, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:GNG. That might be something that you could mention on the school's article. LittlePuppers (talk) 21:13, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding photos

[edit]

Just moved to Castellon, Spain. As I discover new things around me, I see that some entries in Wikipedia are not supported by photographs, something I would like to do. I created an account to get involved. When I looked up Plaza Santa Clara (Castellón), I got nuthin. What to do now? Sorry if this is a familiar and old question.

Monument on Plaza Santa Clara
Welcome to Wikipedia! I think the most helpful starting point is User:Yunshui/Images for beginners. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). nagualdesign 22:11, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I see that English-language Wikipedia has no article on Plaza Santa Clara, though Spanish-language Wikipedia has es:Plaza Santa Clara (Castellón). I suggest that as a gentle introduction to Wikipedia, you take a picture of the Plaza, upload it to Wikipedia Commons, and then add it to the Spanish-language article. Maproom (talk) 23:37, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@TexasGI47:Spending the winter in Castellón sounds nice. The category on Commons you will be most interested in is c:Category:Castellón de la Plana. From the subcategory c:Category:Urban squares in Castelló de la Plana I took File:Santaclaracastello.jpg and inserted it into the Ficha de parque template in es:Plaza Santa Clara (Castellón) like this |imagen = Santaclaracastello.jpg. I am sure, better pictures could be taken of the plaza, feel free to upload yours and stick them in the article instead of the current. Perhaps we should make a Gallery section (on es a Galería). Let me know, if you need a hand with that, the template to use is es:Plantilla:Galería de imágenes. Sam Sailor 13:49, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
