[edit]Is my submission 'important' enough for a wiki?
[edit]Hello! My name is Chase, and I was interested in making a wiki for my original character, Kaos. He's quite popular on the Marvel Amino, and if you search up his real name (Ausar Villahus) he even shows up on Google! I was still confused if it would be considered acceptable though, because only around 200+ people have given him a 'like' on the app. This is still considered a lot though in my mind because he happens to be the highest liked OC on the amino. If its possible he's important enough to be accepted to have a wiki made for him (by me of course) please let me know and I'll start right away! Click here to see: Kaos on Marvel Amino
Note: The biggest reason I want to do this is because its my dream to have Marvel see this character and maybe accept him to be part of their universe!
Thanks so much again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chasedreid (talk • contribs) 04:19, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hello @Chasedreid: Unfortunately, Wikipedia only accepts articles on subjects that are covered in reliable, independent sources as per our notability guideline. Marvel Amino doesn't count, because it's a user-generated source. However, we have many articles on Marvel characters which you might be interested in contributing to! Thanks for understanding. Azerbaijani language
[edit]There are some misinformation without source. I wanted to edit but they didnt allow me due to double standards.
Somebody did change with no evidence no source. Everyone can write whatever his want? It is not web forum based on opionion — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kjhfcbkk (talk • contribs) 05:57, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- Not commenting on the specific revert, but I have given you the standard notice of discretionary sanctions on Azerbaijan-related topics. Pinging Jackfork so he can say his bit. TeraTIX 06:32, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- Kjhfcbkk: you write "without source". But the section Azerbaijani language#North vs. South Azerbaijani cites 14 sources. Maproom (talk) 07:36, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Since the article looked to be well sourced I reverted the edit. The lead where Kjhfcbkk's editing took place doesn't necessarily have to be sourced, even though it had one, as it is a general introduction to the subject. The rest of the article appeared to have adequate citations. So the comment about it not being sourced didn't look right to me, so took it to be vandalism. Jackfork (talk) 04:14, 25 August 2018 (UTC)
Missing article
[edit]Hello. I have created an article called "Kata Farm", translated from Swedish "Kata gård", but I can't find the article anywhere. It doesn't turn up in searches and the Wikipedia link is still red. How can I retrieve and publish it?Viking6767 (talk) 09:26, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- It's at Draft:Kata Farm. It's currently awaiting review: if the reviewer accepts it it will be published as an article. Maproom (talk) 09:36, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Viking6767: (edit conflict) Hello and welcome to the Teahouse. Your draft is at Draft:Kata Farm and is still awaiting review. If you were using a search engine like Google to search for it, you would not find it as draft pages are not indexed by search engines. Quickly looking at your draft, it probably needs some work in order to be accepted, as the draft primarily relies on a single source(with a second used a couple times); which is not an indication of significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. 331dot (talk) 09:38, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Viking6767 A very interesting article, I've just accepted the draft, so it's now at Kata Farm. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:14, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Thank you all!Viking6767 (talk) 06:14, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
How to find all templates with specific string as part of parameter?
[edit]I was editing the page Pyongyang International Airport and see the coordinate template in the article used to say {{coord|39|13|26|N|125|40|12|E|region:NK|display=inline,title}}. NK is not a correct region for North Korea and KP should be the correct one so I changed that. But how can I search among all articles with Template:coord and find out which of them still have region:NK as label? Note that because of the structure of the template, region:XX might only be part of instead of being the entire string for the template when other similar kind of descriptions also applies.
