Notable football clubs in non-FIFA countries

[edit]

Are football clubs in non-FIFA countries that have multiple trustworthy articles about them considered notable, as there are many red links on the page List of top-division football clubs in non-FIFA countries, and I'm not sure if they are not made because they aren't notable or if other wikipedians haven't gotten around to editing it. A Lenz with no contact (talk) 06:45, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, is the short answer (assuming that the multiple sources you mention have discussed the club(s) significantly). WP:ORG gives the appropriate guidelines that each club will have to meet to be considered notable. Write back for more assistance. Thanks, Lourdes 09:03, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong name on my page

Can someone please edit my name from Suchitra Pillai-Malik to Suchitra Pillai on my page as I got divorced in 1997!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Suchi pillai (talkcontribs) 10:11, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(See above.)   Maproom (talk) 10:16, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The OP Suchi pillai may need to clear her browser cache to ensure she's seeing the latest version of the page. She might also bear in mind that all Wikipedia editors are unpaid volunteers working from their own premises in their own free time, not paid employees working in an office. Maproom responded to the initial request in a mere 5 minutes, where 5 to 15 hours (depending on Time zones) would normally be considered a prompt response. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.199.208.241 (talk) 11:38, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

List of 4 O'Clock Club episodes

[edit]

This article, about a TV series, has the number of viewers per episode in a graph. The columns of the graph States the numbers are in millions, but the episodes are up to 493,000. I don't think 493 {short} billion people watched this episode. Clearly, the numbers are not in millions, but they are numbers of units. How do I remove the word "millions" from the column heading?

Done It was necessary to insert a blank viewers_type parameter in the {{Episode table}} template for each series. Thank you Boleslaw for identifying this error: Noyster (talk), 13:16, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for doing this.

New Product

[edit]

Hello I am writing to ask if it is okay for me to create an article about a new product that my company designed. I just want to create an article that defines what our product is because its a new terminology. I work for the company in H. R. and am new to this. I wouild like to write a description of the unit, whats inside and how it works. It's a new technology so we have all the information on it. the only public information available to search online is what we put out. Can I do an article on Wiki?

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tadbada1 (talkcontribs) 16:37, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tadbada1. Broadly speaking, you should avoid doing this. Wikipedia is not the place to advertise or promote your new products. Further, individuals like you employed by the company would need to comply to our policy on paid editing and to follow our conflict of interest guidelines. To be considered for inclusion in Wikipedia, any topic would need to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. As per our notability guidelines for products, "If a company is notable, information on its products and services should generally be included in the article on the company itself." While I don't know the name of your company or your product, if your new product becomes notable in the future, some or the other editor on Wikipedia will include its information on Wikipedia. You don't need to do that yourself. Feel free to write back for any further support. Thanks, Lourdes 18:28, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Tadbada1. I don't wish to be rude, but if you are even thinking of Wikipedia in any way connected with your marketing strategy or online presence, then you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is, and you need to read about the Five pillars and What Wikipedia is not. Sorry. --ColinFine (talk) 22:27, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry, but no, for two reasons. First, nobody can write such an article, because the subject is not notable. Second, you cannot write such an article because you have a conflict of interest (see WP:COI and WP:PAID). An article's subject must be notable, by Wikipedia's definition of notable. By our definition a subject is not notable unless it has been the subject of two or more articles in major publications, where those articles are independent of the subject, (i.e., not press releases or the like.) Google translates this as "how to find journals in Malay on sustainable township here".
Hi IP address in Kuala Lumpur. Please note that this is the English Wikipedia. Did you intend to ask at the Malay Wikipedia? There might be someone here who can help, but only a small proportion of our editors speak Malay. Dbfirs 21:12, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Total page views of +300 articles

[edit]

Hi everyone!
I was wondering, is it possible to see the number of page views obtained globally by +300 articles? (these ones to be more precise). I'm asking this because the traditional tool allows to insert only ten articles gradually without giving you the possibility to put them all just once. Thanks very much for the help! --Ruislip Gardens (talk) 20:47, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ruislip Gardens. Massviews may be a helpful tool here, yielding these results for the articles linked from your page (you can change the date range). Please note, these results are just for the page views on Italian Wikipedia, and I don't know of a way to automatically tot up all the page views for articles on the same subject on all Wikipedias: Noyster (talk), 22:54, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much for the help Noyster! ^^ --Ruislip Gardens (talk) 07:36, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
