Romanian Television (TVR) had internally selected Global Records's Roxen to represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Her entry, "Alcohol You", was chosen out of a five-song national selection competition, Selecția Națională 2020. However, Eurovision was cancelled by the European Broadcasting Union in March due to the pandemic of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
