Conscious Communication

[edit]

Conscious Communication is a set of skills for any relationship that enable you to listen to another person without judgment and express your own feelings and needs without blame. These skills provide a template for healthy relationships based in mutual respect and equality. They enable people to better understand each other in times of emotional tension, and engender empathy and compassion in the midst of conflict.

The core of Conscious Communication is a three-step process of either listening or speaking which describes basic 1. feelings (raw unfiltered emotions) 2. facts (raw unfiltered data), and 3. impacts (information about how the situation affects the speaker in a tangible way). Other skills include understanding disconnects (common communication habits which interrupt the sense of connection and empathy and disable problem solving), open problem solving questions (actively helping the other person solve their own problem), and collaborative negotiation (a process of negotiation which enables the feelings and needs of both parties to be expressed, validated, and responded to).

This process of communication was developed by Miles Sherts, a professionally trained mediator, after twenty years of teaching communication and conflict resolution skills, and is described in Conscious Communication, published by Langdon St. Press in 2010. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Milessherts (talkcontribs) 15:52, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What you have as a reference is a primary source. To show notability, please find two other authors that have written about the topic. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:35, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Neverwinter Trilogy

[edit]

I'm looking to make an article for my junior composition class at Ohio University. I would like to make the article about the Neverwinter Trilogy by R.A Salvatore to have a page to go to from R.A Salvatore's wiki page and character pages. At this time I haven't gathered sources, but will do so promptly. I would list release dates, post pictures of the books, give a brief synopsis and other things of that sort. Just looking for some feedback on my plan. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joshua Holley (talkcontribs) 16:31, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

R.A Salvatore counts as a significant author. Can you find 2 or more reviews of the series? If so it would justify an article on it. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:34, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
