Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Christianity
Points of interest related to Christianity on Wikipedia: Outline – History – Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Christianity. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Christianity|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Christianity. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Non-notable LPTV which may well be silent. Only sources are RabbitEars and the FCC. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 04:26, 28 January 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect to List of television stations in New York (state)#LPTV stations: as the creator of this article all the way back in 2006, I can assure you this is little more than a remnant article of the far lower, non-GNG-based inclusion standards of the era. Maybe there's something out there that could instead merit a mention somehow at WNGN (FM) (the co-owned radio station), but a history of mostly national services (or more recently, airing nothing but a random .4 carriage of the radio side) does not exactly suggest significant coverage. (What's left of Google's newspaper archive does have two articles in The Daily Gazette mentioning this station, which is more than some other LPTVs, but I don't think they're enough — even if the first article mentions the then-existence of local programming without elaboration.) - Comment: The WaPo, CNA and Austin American-Statesman coverage would all generally qualify as WP:SIGCOV in WP:SIRS, and NCORP does not have a WP:SUSTAINED requirement (unlike WP:NEVENTS or WP:NPRODUCT). However, all of these sources were published in a blitz of coverage around OnFaith's launch and I don't see any continuing coverage. As a flash in the pan company without any apparent lasting coverage beyond its launch, I'd lean delete, but I think a letter-of-the-law application of NCORP would allow a keep !vote. - Weak delete. This seems like a start up that got a little bit of funding but never really got going, and I suspect part of the reason it got a blitz of media coverage is that the idea of tech products centred around religion is still just a bit of a novelty to most people. I think Dclemens1971 is probably right that the coverage might strictly speaking be enough to pass WP:NCORP, but so much of it is focused on the idea rather than on the company that I'm not sure it really passes the spirit of NCORP. For instance, I can't find a single source covering the fact that the company rebranded or the fact that it shut down, or any sources about its actual operations or userbase. All I could find of him online was passing mentions, and few of the sources cited appear to actually mention him. Draftified once, and moved back with the only changes made being removal of some references. Wikishovel (talk) 20:14, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

- Dear Sir, The source for this article is from a Biographical booklet titled, "Rev. D.B.T. David: Pastor par excellence" printed by the family after his death, for local readership in Chennai, Nov 2001. The articles of Rev. David had appeared in Tamil newspapers/magazines of the print media era. Church souvenirs contain writings of others about him in Tamil, which preceded times of internet usage and digital formatting. The tribute of Bishop cited is in the YouTube video (in Tamil). There is another reference of his council membership in United Theological College. After Facebook came, some parishioners have commented positively about Rev. David, at different times in the past which are laborious to trace now. He ministered to a neglected community to whom no media or researcher or social worker or church agency engaged with as Rev. David. Therefore, his ministry is considered first of its kind. Clergymen serve the church and the public too without fanfare or promoting themselves. They shun publicity. Any good deed done for publicity will only be self-defeating. Therefore, this article about a social and spiritual transformational work deserves to be at least in a draft format or "sources to be verified" category, for the sake of future researchers. Thank you for your time. (User: Wordofguidance.) Wordofguidance (talk) 06:46, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- Delete: Nothing for notability. Sourcing used in the article is almost entirely red per Cite Highlighter, so non-RS. I can't find anything about this person... The long note above mentions a book published by the family; I'd consider that a primary source and one isn't enough anyway. Non-notable religious person. - Merge. I looked into both Google news and books. All of the references focus on either the castle that is nearby, or to the feast/commemoration of the Nativity of the Virgin. This is not an independent parish, but rather a chapel of the castle and an oratory, which is a unique type of house of worship for laypersons; I've visited a few in Italy and elsewhere. FWIW, I'm Episcopalian. Bearian (talk) 02:33, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
