Operator: CBM
Automatic or Manually Assisted: automatic
Programming Language(s): perl and WP 1.0 bot framework
Function Summary: make table of protection status for protected edit requests
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): continuous
Edit rate requested: 1 edit per hour
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y
Function Details:
Automatically update this table once per hour. The table is populated from CAT:PER and then the bot uses api.php to get the protection status of each article. This is a time-saver since otherwise I have to load all the protection logs manually whenever I handle these requests. I think the table is useful for others, so instead of running the script when I need to I would rather set it to run once per hour.
To remove any possible doubt: the bot does not run with admin rights (of course) and doesn't actually try to read the requests. It just makes table of the protection status. The "tagged since" column is based on a local cache of the table data; there is no way I know of to query that information.
