Operator: Tedder
Automatic or Manually assisted: Automatic, unsupervised (cron)
Programming language(s): perl
Source code available: yes, GitHub, here
Function overview: Collate two lists containing all pages belonging to Wikipedia:WikiProject Oregon to enable article and nonarticle recent changes lists. Replacing manual process.
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate):
- Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Oregon/Archive 11#bot replacement of the /admin list (alert)
- Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Oregon#AOP (the /admin section) (second alert)
- User talk:TedderBot/AOP (centralized discussion of interested parties)
Edit period(s): Once daily
Estimated number of pages affected: 2 pages in mainspace (Wikipedia:WikiProject Oregon/Admin, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oregon/Admin2) plus log in userspace
Exclusion compliant (Y/N): No. Looks for "do not run" flag on userspace (User:TedderBot/Bot status). Not editing outside of these three pages.
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): No
Function details: This is very straightforward and limited in scope- the bot looks for backlinks to Template:WikiProject Oregon and Category:WikiProject Oregon pages, sorts and transforms the list, and outputs it to /Admin and /Admin2. The log is then posted to User:TedderBot/AOP/log. tedder (talk) 23:02, 16 January 2010
