Operator: Xclamation point
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
Programming Language(s): PHP
Function Overview: Clone of User:AntiAbuseBot (Admin block bot).
Edit period(s): Continuous
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y, but will need admin flag.
Function Details: Pretty much a complete clone of AAB, because Chris G has retired. Quoting from the BRFA:
“ | Watches the rc feed for actions that match known vandals and takes necessary action (e.g. send off an alert on irc, revert the edit, revert the edit and block the user or just block the user), currently I have it setup with regexes that match grawp and also some spambots. Also I have been running this bot under my main account for some time now. | ” |
This does the same thing.
Discussion
[edit]I'm concerned with your ability to maintain these delicate bots. --MZMcBride (talk) 20:12, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, why is this titled "SoxBot V 5" when the link at the top is to User:SoxBot? --MZMcBride (talk) 20:17, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I've fixed the title to reflect the title of the subpage. Could you be more specific when you say 'concerned with [his] ability...'? (i.e. what concerns do you have?) Richard0612 20:34, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I've been told that I don't have a knack for diplomacy. But I will say that the last adminbot experience with this user wasn't particularly awe-inspiring and that it requires an incredibly skillful bot op to run a blocking adminbot. --MZMcBride (talk) 04:48, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
{{BotWithdrawn}} There's something in the air... Xclamation point 23:40, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- {{BotReopened}} Werdna has said that while Abuse Filter is now enabled on some small wikis, it will not be at the English Wikipedia for a few weeks. Xclamation point 00:20, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
