Discussion
[edit]Hi there Pok. Just a quick note that you shouldn't really be running this bot (even as a trial) before approval for a trial. Unlike some other projects the English Wikipedia requires bots to be approved even for test runs. However, this isn't really a massive problem. However, I do see that in the trial you've been editing Templates, this shouldn't be done using the standard interwiki.py, as it doesn't account for use of the {{Documentation}} subpage. Also, will you be running this bot without force while in autonomous mode? Please make sure you read through our bot policy - Kingpin13 (talk) 07:57, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Hi. Yes you're right I didn't notice that before applying. On the french wiki, before applying we can launch the bot for few edits. So I stop it before the trial period will be granted (if yes). Concerning the template I can adapt my script which is used before interwiki, this script build a file and then I use interwiki with -file. This script analyses the last edits of a given user (userlib.user.contributions), I can change it in order to grab only articles on the principal namespace. I do not use the -force parameter. I only use interwiki.py in two ways :
- with -autonomous and (-start or -file) and then I analyse the log autonomous_problem.dat
- with -file or a given article and I confirm myself the deletions, choices, changes...

Great, looks like a typical uncontroversial interwiki bot, with-in WP:BOTPOL. Speedily Approved. - Kingpin13 (talk) 11:50, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
