Function details: This task is a continuation of Task 1 but for different signatures. All 50 selected user signatures that are listed in User:MalnadachBot/Task 2 cause a high priority Lint error. The first 3 signatures give misnested tag with different rendering in HTML5 and HTML4 error and the others give old behaviour of link-wrapping font tags error. If the signature uses the obsolete <font> tag, it will be converted to CSS. This will also fix obsolete html tag Lint error in relevant signatures. The number of pages in which these signatures are present range from a few hundred to several thousand, totaling about 84,500 pages. This bot task when completed will fix approximately 250,000 Lint errors.

The last span tag moves inside the bold/italic markup, fixing a misnesting error. There appear to be about 2,700 instances. – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:29, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I am drawing the line at 50 signatures for this task. These will take me about a month to fix. However I have opened User:MalnadachBot/Signature submissions where you and anyone else can add new signatures for the bot fix. Many of the users are no longer active. I checked some active users and they have changed their signature. The old behaviour of link wrapping font tag error creates visual difference by suppressing the color attribute. So the users would have noticed their signatures do not work and unlikely anyone is still using these signatures. Approved for extended trial (5,000 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Looking perfect so far. Let's see if any issues arise in the extended trial. If not, I think this can be approved in general for high-priority signature lint fixes without restriction on the set of signatures fixed. – SD0001 (talk) 19:25, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
