- Hello Mahdiz. Please ensure you have read the bot policy carefully, in particular the section about interwiki bots. What will you do to address the concerns from your previous request? Also, if the bot is still to run from the Toolserver, are you aware that Rule 9.4 disallows the continuous running of interwiki bots? Thanks. — The Earwig (talk) 04:19, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Hello dear Earwig. im run the bot from toolserver(weekly) and my pc. and i know about Rule 9.4. about this i have not a familiar to Requests for approval. but one month ago and im increase activities on BRFA on anotherwiki and robot activity. so i guess im do it better now.If you have any other questions plz ask/thanks alot--
:)
Mahdi talk 07:01, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]- Are you running the bot as part of the multi-maintainer project, then? If so, you wouldn't be able to run this task from your own PC; if not, you wouldn't be able to run this task from the Toolserver. — madman 20:05, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- i'm sorry madman, but i'm not understand.you say im can't run interwiki bot for several project(wikipedia)? im use the screen space in Toolserver, and im run it interwikibot. for example im run interwikibot in fawiki in screen 1 and im run it in eswiki on screen 2. is not possible?
:)
Mahdi talk 13:41, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]- No. You may not run interwiki bots on the Toolserver unless you are a member of the multi-maintainer project interwikibot and run become interwikibot first. Please make sure that you understand the rules of the Toolserver; it doesn't appear that you do as of yet. — madman 15:15, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- its the 9.4 rule:(After 2. April 2012 the continuous running of langlink-bots...). im not run it continuous. im run it weekly or manually.
:)

Yes, but for how long will you be running the bot when you do? If you'll be running it on a detached screen, I would imagine that it will be running for a while. That appears to be the issue; the rule was instituted to try to keep a lid on memory usage. I've reviewed all e-mails I've received regarding interwiki bots on the Toolserver, and it does appear there's a good deal of ambiguity in the rule. The most clear statements of exemptions seem to have been made on 1 February and 15 May, when DaB said bots that run for a limited or short time (as for testing) would be exempt from the rule; then again, there have also been statements such as "If you run a interwiki-link-bot on the TS, please stop it now because it is against the rules to run it". Once we know for how long you will be running the bot, we can get a quick yes or no from DaB via e-mail or IRC. Thanks, — madman 19:55, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- ok madman. As long as I can run it from toolserver and i tried to join a group of interwikibots, if not i run it from my pc. thanks alot/

Mahdi talk 12:42, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]- Mahdiz, I can't say what you can do/not do or move this request forward at all if you can't answer my question. — madman 18:38, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

– Sorry I've been slow on updates, I'm on vacation. Just noting here that DaB has clarified the Toolserver rule and this bot would absolutely not be allowed to run on the Toolserver. Moving on, what interwiki.py parameters are you going to be using? — madman 17:46, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]- i'm in the vacation too:)/ yes i'm know it. im using parameters (-auto,-recentchanges: or -new:, -lang:any projects and -namespace:0)
:)
Mahdi talk 17:35, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]- Sorry for the delay, I had to review the code of interwiki.py and the interwiki bot policy to make sure those parameters would result in compliance. Approved for trial (25 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Please watch the trial closely (use a high putthrottle value if you have to) so we don't have any problems like those we had in previous trials. This is to be a small one. Thanks, — madman 03:37, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- It looks like you started this trial on the 29th, but have not completed it. Do you wish it to be reviewed now? Thanks, — madman 04
