Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automatic
Source code available: Available upon Request (Valid reason)
Function overview: An archive bot for the User talk section, Wikipedia (TBI), Wikipedia Talk (TBI) and Talk (TBI). TBI is Planned and started but needing to be fully implemented.
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate):
Edit period(s): Continuous
Estimated number of pages affected: Unable to guess. With the amount of Talk, User Talk, Wikipedia and Wikipedia Talk pages and popularity of usage, Could be from 10 to a few thousands or so.
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes (In rare cases), If the bot malfunctions it is by default made to avoid the bots template in all namespaces.
Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): No
Function details: The bot is designed to deal with general archiving tasks in User Talk & Talk namespaces where the appropriate template is present with correct configuration. In Wikipedia & Wikipedia Talk namespaces, due to the nature of those namespaces a separate procedure is followed. Two functions are also implemented to allow a much easier way to manage archiving, A ArchiveNOW function is present and a Do not archive until... is implemented to allow timestamps to remain as they are.

[edit]Is this different from the existing archiving bots? If so, how? — Wolfgang42 (talk) 02:11, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Visually and in aim is is the same as others but the back end is different. In order to make this bot different and to has maximum functionality, I designed it to have namespace specific work flows so it is quite easy to archive every namespace present. In addition with its continuous run, messages will be archived within 1 hour of its age where as other bots run once or twice a day. From how I have seen other bots operate, this one does differ from those that currently exist. John F. Lewis (talk) 19:41, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Per conversation with the operator I have granted the block IP-block-exemption as it runs from a hostfarm range that is blocked here. Snowolf How can I help? 19:15, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- {{OperatorAssistanceNeeded}} Are you ready to start the trial? We haven't heard from you for almost a month.—cyberpower ChatOffline 19:59, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Running in some constant problems with either PHP or the difference somehow between MediaWiki and Wikipedia. Constantly working on getting it to work but recently and this week life has gotten in the way of doing much work so once things clear up I should have this up and running. MBisanz has regular updates on the progress via IRC. John F. Lewis (talk) 20:04, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am just leaving a quick notice of withdrawal. Keeping this here is starting to mount up problems, the actual bot seems to be fine but some behind the scenes things are problematic. I am in the future just going to redo the whole bot then re open thing request. In the mean time I will be jointly working with Addshore on his bot. John F.
