[edit]Note: today I was doing this manually, based on list generated by a bot. As it is quite botish type of edits I hope that I can do it using a bot Bulwersator (talk) 17:43, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The consensus to make field mandatory is clear (thus new templates should have it or be removed/replaced eventually). The consensus of what to do with existing tags is not; making field mandatory from now on does not imply removal of old instances. So to clarify -- which case does this task affect -- i.e. all templates, or templates placed after April 5, 2012? Besides, I see strong indication that editor prefer notifying users first. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 11:04, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- This discussion establishes consensus to remove tags added after the change to the template, given that the contributors who tagged the articles will be informed. Is this task going to be restricted to these new tags, and if so, how? (Using the date parameter? By identifying the edit that added the tag?) How are the contributors who tagged the articles going to be determined? Can you provide access to the source code as you stated in your request? I can think of a few ways that I would do this myself, but none of them are particularly trivial. — madman 22:25, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
