Operator: Benoni
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
Programming Language(s): pywikipedia/python
Function Summary: Create interwiki links towards the Breton wikipedia, using the interwiki logfile created after running interwiki on the Breton wikipedia
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): from time to time (a few hours once a week more or less)
Edit rate requested: 4-6 edits per minute
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): N
Function Details: I will use this program: "python warnfile.py -lang:en". I normally work on the Breton wikipedia, where I am sysop (br:Implijer:Benoni), and where I have a bot called br:Implijer:BenoniBot. This bot creates interwiki links on the breton wikipedia. But doing this it also create files named "warning-wikipedia-xx" (txt files), one of them being warning-wikipedia-en. This file contains the pages on the english wikipedia with no interwiki link toward the breton similar page. Therefore, running the program "python warnfile.py -lang:en" will enable me to complete the english wikipedia, putting the interwiki links towards the breton wikipedia. It would be really time saving for me, since there are more than one thousands of such pages. I've been practicising on other wikipedias already (i.e.: kw, cy and gl), and this program is completely safe and trustable.
Discussion[edit]
Can you please describe exactly what the bot will do? That way others and the BAG can understand it better. E talk 13:02, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
