Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automatic
Programming language(s): AWB
Source code available: AWB
Function overview: Replace hyphens with endashes within the "years" set of parameters in {{Infobox gridiron football person}} as per MOS:DASH
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): None; this task is non-controversial and similar to past tasks such as Wikipedia:Bots/Requests_for_approval/DASHBot, which took the much more significant action of moving pages to make the same stylistic change.
Edit period(s): One time run
Estimated number of pages affected: Around 2000 to 2500
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes
Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): Yes
Function details: It's very common for editors to mistakenly use hyphens instead of endashes when providing a date range. In transclusions of {{Infobox gridiron football person}}, this problem occurs in around 1/3 of articles based on a ~500 article sample I checked. This task will replace hyphens with endashes between years. It only replaces hyphens within the various "years" parameters (i.e. playing_years1, administrating_years3, etc). It will not replace hyphens that are followed by a letter.
