Operator: Andrew Kelly (talk)
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Manually Assisted
Programming Language(s): AutoWikiBrowser
Function Summary: Rate articles in this category.
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Run as I have time, probably for an hour or two at a time. Will probably run at night more than during the day so server load shouldn't be an issue.
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): N
Function Details: I would like to use AWB to work on rating unassessed articles for WikiProject North Carolina and maybe other state WikiProjects as well. There is a backlog of 2,547 articles at this time so AWB is needed. The bot can also be used to tag untagged articles for WikiProject North Carolina (by using subcategories of Category:North Carolina), one of the few useful things that BetacommandBot used to do. This bot will only edit talk pages, it will not edit any articles (unless I am granted permission in the future, of course).

- If you are manually approving edits this can be done on your main account. BJTalk 03:15, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I would like to keep the edits separate from my main account so I don’t clog up my contributions with a few thousand talk page edits. While I planned on approving a good many of the edits myself, I requested the bot flag so that I would not have to approve ratings on articles in categories such as Category:Unincorporated communities in North Carolina, seeing as they would always be rated as low importance. Is that an official fail or is there room for reconsideration and/or other opinions? --Andrew Kelly (talk) 03:40, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Withdrawal: I have found out that users are allowed to use AWB under a separate account, even if it is not a bot. I will wait until I have 500 mainspace edits and apply over at the AWB checkpage under the account User:AK AWB. I’m sorry for wasting your time. --Andrew Kelly (talk) 07:43, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
