Watkowice [vatkɔˈvit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ryjewo, within Kwidzyn County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) east of Ryjewo, 15 km (9 mi) north-east of Kwidzyn, and 66 km (41 mi) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk.
Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, and in 1772-1945 it belonged to Prussia and Germany. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
