Biography and work
[edit]Vlad Fisun has hosted the radio music shows "Big Fisun" (2016–2018),[11] "Festive Life"[12] and "33/45" on Radio Aristocrats (Радіо Аристократи, Kyiv, Ukraine). He is a regular jury member of the Aprize Music Awards.[13]
As DJ Fun2mass, he was the first Ukrainian to perform at the Sziget Festival in Budapest (2015).[14][15] He has performed alongside many well-known artists, such as De Phazz's Karl Frierson at the 2015 Koktebel Jazz Festival held in Zatoka (Odessa Province, Ukraine).[16]
In 2018, Vlad Fisun served as the creative director of Atlas Weekend, one of the most important music festivals in Ukraine.[10]
In 2019, Fisun performed a set in the Chernobyl exclusion zone that was filmed by UATV channel[17][18][19][20] (with cameraman Viktor Cherevko, among other crew). The resulting film, Chernobyl: Territory of Change («Чорнобиль. територія змін») was nominated for the special jury prize of the Asian Broadcasting Union awards.[21][22] Later that year, he helped organize the Kurenvika Precompression event and DJed at the first Ukrainian Kurenivka Camp at the Burning Man festival in Nevada.[3][23]
Vlad Fisun has also been active in contributing to the war effort during the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, helping Ukraine defending itself — he volunteered for the Dobrovoz NGO (2022–2023), transporting medicine, and has also participated in fostering initiatives to raise money for the defenders and awareness about the Ukrainian cause, as well as lending his apartment in Kyiv to internally displaced people.[7][24]
