Vasilije Adžić (born 12 May 2006) is a Montenegrin professional footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Serie A club Juventus and their affiliated Serie C Group C club Juventus Next Gen, as well Montenegro national team youth sections.
Club career
[edit]Budućnost
[edit]Adžić signed a scholarship contract with Budućnost Podgorica in April 2022.[1] He made his debut in August of the same year, scoring a long-range chip against Arsenal Tivat in a 4–0 win.[2] In doing so, he became the youngest goal-scorer in Budućnost's history, and the second-youngest in Montenegrin top-tier league, behind Ilija Vukotić.[3]
On 11 October 2023, he was named by English newspaper The Guardian as one of the best players born in 2006 worldwide.[4]
Juventus
[edit]On 11 July 2024, Juventus announced the signing of Adžić on a three-year contract. He was initially slated to join the to Serie C side Juventus Next Gen before transitioning to the first team.[5] Eventually, Adžić's rapid progress managed to impress manager Thiago Motta and his staff during pre-season, earning himself an immediate spot with Juventus first team for 2024–25 season, missing the first three matches of the season due an injury and rejoining team during the international break in September 2024.[6][7][8]
International career
[edit]Adžić has represented Montenegro at numerous youth international levels.[9] Adžić was called up by manager Robert Prosinečki to the senior Montenegro national team for the first time for the UEFA Nations League games against Iceland and Wales in September 2024, he eventually missed both matches due an injury.[10]
