Regarding Polistes japonicas
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have moved an article you created, Polistes japonicas, to Draft:Polistes japonicas. Since the only content on the page is currently an infobox, it is not a complete article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for at least the minimum criteria for an article's existence. Also, in order to ensure our readers don't accidentally read the draft before it's finished, I will be nominating Polistes japonicas for speedy deletion criterion R2 so that the draft will not appear in search engines. (Pages in the "Draft:" namespace do not show up in search engines, such as Google, but any page anywhere else, such as Polistes japonicas, will.) Steel1943 (talk) 23:32, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Did you know...?
[edit]Thank you for your recent contribution to Polistes japonicas.
I wonder if you would like to consider submitting it as a candidate for the "Did you know...?" feature. DYKs (as they are commonly called) are short snippets taken from Wikipedia's newest articles and, if approved, appear on the Main Page. You can learn more about this at Wikipedia:Did you know.
Your article Polistes japonicas appears to meet the criteria for submission as a DYK, but would be greatly improved if you expanded the lead section to briefly summarize the main points of the article, and by adding wikilinks to other articles. If you choose to submit a short (and interesting) fact from your article, please read the rules and the supplementary guidelines carefully. Please ask me if you have further questions.
According to the DYK tool, your article was created or expanded on October 17. DYKs must be nominated within 7 days of the creation or 5-fold expansion of the article, so if you choose to submit your article, please act quickly! Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:33, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
Polistes japonicus/japonicas
[edit]You and User:Amgoldberg15 both created articles about the same wasp, it would appear. For the purpose of your class assignment, the history of both articles is preserved in the article history, but we can't have two separate articles about the same wasp, so I have created a redirect from Polistes japonicas to Polistes japonicus. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 02:50, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
The original article history is here. The final version is here. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 03:05, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
I merged the nomination into just one, with both of you as authors and you as nominator. It's easier that way (and both articles couldn't have appeared on the main page anyway). Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 03:16, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
Incomplete DYK nomination
[edit]Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Polistes Japonicas at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; see step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 20:49, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
@DYKHousekeepingBot Which part of step 3 exactly, am I missing in my nomination Template:Did you know nominations/Polistes Japonicas ? Zroscope (talk) 22:50, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Polistes japonicus
[edit]On 8 December 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Polistes japonicus, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that on Okinawa, the wasp Polistes japonicus found a new place to overwinter after the arrival on the island of a new banana plantation pest? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Polistes japonicus. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |
