I'm not sure how to correct incorrect VIAF reference numbers
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
I'd like to know how to correct incorrect VIAF references. For example (see the Talk page), on https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Roger_Williams_(soldier) the VIAF references a modern-day author, not the Renaissance soldier.
- Thank you for reporting the incorrect VIAF link. That information is automatically retreived from Wikidata, so I have located the error in that database and corrected it there. The article will update automatically.
- Wikidata is a separate project of the Wikimedia Foundation. If you would like to learn about Wikidata, here is a link: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikidata

Image copyright problem with Image:Smoke-jack.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Smoke-jack.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 16:05, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source for Image:Bay-state-guitar-decal.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Bay-state-guitar-decal.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:40, 21 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 19:40, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Athletes’ Performance
[edit]A tag has been placed on Athletes’ Performance requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Toddst1 (talk) 13:18, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
License tagging for File:AAFM-Smiths-Liner-Notes-Example-57.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:AAFM-Smiths-Liner-Notes-Example-57.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:07, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Twine (device)
[edit]Hello ZoneAlarm5. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Twine (device)".

or {{db-g13}}
code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Twine (device)}}

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 00:01, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
Hello ZA5. We already have an article on wing dams, and I think the best thing to do would be transfer your new content to that article, and convert yours to a redirect. I can help with this if you wish. Best wishes, Kablammo (talk) 18:39, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you! Regards, Kablammo (talk) 14:05, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
Hello ZoneAlarm5: Regarding the earliest known index in an English-language book, I see the reference to the Mascall book, but I don't see a reference to the source that names this book as the earliest. Do you have a reference to that source?

[edit]Orphaned non-free image File:AAFM-Smiths-Liner-Notes-Example-57.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:AAFM-Smiths-Liner-Notes-Example-57.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:22, 6 February 2022 (UTC)

Hope Mill Theatre moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Hope Mill Theatre, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:47, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
