AfD nomination of Ziya Movahed

[edit]

I have nominated Ziya Movahed, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ziya Movahed. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Iranian notable poets

[edit]

Hello. Sepideh Jodeyri and Ziya Movahed are Iranian notable poets. They both have been recognized with various critics in the Iranian press. Zohairani (talk) 16:54, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why you're telling me this, unless it's because I nominated them for deletion last February, in which case it's a little late (-: Stifle (talk) 17:44, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, semi-protection is only used on pages which are subject to "heavy and continued vandalism". Considering there has only been one edit by an unregistered user since August, which was not vandalism but a misunderstanding of the policy over foreign languages sources, I cannot see that this criteria is met. I also note that the last edit in August by an unregistered user was a constructive addition of a userbox and categories. If there is continuing vandalism in the future then you can request protection of a page at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection where other admins can usually act quickly on a request. Youtube

[edit]

Almost certainly Youtube cannot be used as a reliable source. This discussion probably gives as good an explanation as any, including discussion on the very rare instance where it might be ok. If you think you have such an instance then asking on the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard is the best way forward. Using Youtube as an external link (not a reference) the relevant guideline is cited here - Wikipedia:External links#Linking to user-submitted video sites. Nominating an article for a second time is allowed (it has been a reasonable length of time since the last nomination) and the best thing you can do is to argue your case for keeping the article on the AFD and explaining how it meets the relevant notability guideline - Wikipedia:Notability (people). Being blocked on another wikipedia is not grounds for blocking here on this wikipedia (and that applies the other way round). However if you feel Professional Assassin is breaking policies here on wikipedia then you can report them to the relevant noticeboard such as Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations or Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. This should not be done as a preventative action but only if you have actual evidence of misconduct here on this wikipedia. Davewild (talk) 19:50, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Careful

[edit]

- Here, you tagged as "BLP Unsourced" an article on someone who's been dead since 1849. - BLP = Biographies of Living People = not dead. - Careful. DS (talk) 20:42, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did not look at the date of his death. Zohairani (talk) 16:12, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Reza Ghassemi

[edit]

Thank you for your opinion. I'm sure you did not mean it to, but your comment came across as rather impolite - probably more down to the inadequacies of the English language than intended incivility. With regards the article; by adding the {{notability}} tag I was raising a concern that it might not meet the guidelines, not claiming that it did not meet the guidelines. You are perfectly within your rights to remove it if you believe the subject to be notable, as you are to improve the article by adding sources to establish his notability. ninety:one (reply on my talk) 18:10, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your further comment. Since I had not looked at the article in the eleven months that have elapsed between your previous comment and this one, I fear there is little I can do. ninety:one (reply on my talk) 01:33, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
