A tag has been placed on The Red Sea Astrarium (TRSA) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Flat Out let's discuss it 09:38, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notability and promotional tones

[edit]

There were a few issues with the page. The first is that I didn't see any coverage in reliable sources that would show that this as-of-yet unfinished project passes WP:GNG. It must have coverage per WP:RS and it must pass notability guidelines to merit an article. The other was that the article had some definite promotional tones and while this may not have been your intent, it was still promotional. Phrases such as "progressive and entertaining celebration of the region’s culture and heritage" is considered to be promotional or at the very least, WP:PEACOCK. Now when saying that WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, the thing to remember is that the page in question may not have issues with notability and/or have enough sources to assert notability. If it does have issues, that doesn't mean anything- it just means that the page hasn't been cleaned up and/or that it hasn't been deleted yet. The existence of other pages doesn't automatically mean that another should be kept. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:52, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of The Red Sea Astrarium (TRSA)

[edit]

Hello Zina2014,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Red Sea Astrarium (TRSA) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. J Sahu (ଜ୍ଞାନ) talk 10:15, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why it is notable, nit just that it is the "first of its kind". Bearian (talk) 16:25, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
