Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Dear Zickx009: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk (discussion) page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.

One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!   -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 02:38, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Polymorphism (biology)

[edit]

Well, thank you for your comment. One of the things I tried to do here was to link genetics and evolution with the life of animals & plants in nature. DNA/molecular biology is nowadays tending to swamp biology courses almost to the exclusion of whole living beings!

The other thing I do is biographies of biologists; I've been slaving away on Julian Huxley for some time now; he's almost done, but I heed to get some out-of-copyright photos scanned and loaded up. Graphics are important, it seems, though what they really add is something of a mystery...

After a while, you'll find a few things that seem to fit yourself, and before you know it, you'll be contributing! There's some generous people out there who will help you, but also some critics... Check everything & use the library & the web to collect info. Wiki ('WP') is a wonderful self-teaching device!

Best wishes, Macdonald-ross (talk) 06:28, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please add your discusion material to the bottom of talk pages. This is what everyone else does and if you do things different your commnets are effectively hidden. SmithBlue (talk) 23:12, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
