Assignment 2

[edit]

Be careful of your spelling: zoophilic not zoophillic. The fungus doesn't fluoresce under green light, it fluoresces green under UV light. I suggest you don't include treatment guidelines because these can change; however it may be worth including a general statement on its susceptibility resistance various antifungal agents. Long-haired kittens are often asymptomatic - I'm not sure I learned this from but perhaps you can find a reference. It explains why many outbreaks of tinea capitis in children often trace their roots to the recent acquisition of an apparently healthy kitten. Can you find any information based on the analysis of the recent sequenced genome (http://genome.jgi.doe.gov/Micca1/Micca1.home.html)? This kind of analysis often yields many interesting findings. Assignment 3-Peer review

[edit]

Hi, nice job on your paragraphs. It is really nice that you have lots of information outlined. I understand that you are still working on it, so maybe you just want have subtitle for now. But just in case you did not notice, I think it would a good idea to make the major header text a bigger front by using double equation mark, and maybe use the triple equation mark for sub-header. Also, I think it would be a good idea to have a section that discuss pathophysiology of this fungus since it involves infections with pets and children. Is there any case studies involved? Thank you! I will take into consideration :) Zhmurcha (talk) 15:24, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article Review

[edit]

Hey great job on your article. You have included a lot of interesting facts, especially on distribution and where it peaks. You are probably in the process of fixing it, but just make sure to convert all your points into paragraphs. Also, perhaps include some facts about the origin of Microsporum canis (where it was first discovered and which species it may have evolved from). This article may be able to provide some useful information: Population structure and evolutionary origins of Microsporum canis, M. ferrugineum and M. audouinii.. I hope this helps and I look forward to reading your finished article. Waleed Shahid1 (talk) 18:48, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback! I will look into that article Zhmurcha (talk) 18:53, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
