How is that image fair use if no source is given? Fair use would also be the use of a small part of the original. That image is fairly high resolution and is thus not just a small part of the original. --mav 07:47, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Your message
[edit]Hey, back off, all right? If you want to write about Japanese underwear, that's your deal. Otherwise, fix it, forget it and leave me the hell out of it. Next time you have something to say, make it polite. If researching Japanese skivvies wouldn't have hurt me, a bit of civility wouldn't have hurt you. - Lucky 6.9 20:48, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Madness!
[edit]Hi zanimum,
Weren't you involved with the distribution of the last press release? I would love to get some feedback about that experience from you, before the upcoming 1,000,000 article press release goes out. We are still in the first stages of coordinating the rollout of the release. Cheers, +sj+ 10:33, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Ads
[edit]Hi Zanimum, I will accept your revert as based on authority if you can tell me where the policy about these ads was decided (that is, decided by some kind of democratic process). Can you please specify where this was?
Thanks, Opus33 20:09, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Hello, I see you're back and editing again. I would appreciate a reply to my query. Yours sincerely, Opus33 15:55, 14 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Hi, Zanimum. The above article, and another listing a real estate development in Ontario, are both now on VfD. They both appear to be real estate listings. If this is a misunderstanding, please let us know. Geogre 19:33, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Content guidelines
[edit]I made a minor edit to your new article on Romeo! Please consider reviewing the guidelines concerning establishing context, stating the obvious and writing articles that won't date quickly. Thanks for your contributions. Kbh3rd 18:42, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Okay, so maybe I was being ambiguous, not saying the year or country of production, in this stub. But you've just made the article into an absolute piece of misinformation. The series is not Canadian, it's by Nickelodeon. And the series debuted in 2003, not 2004. Sometimes lack of information makes an article better than one with info. -- user:zanimum
Latin
[edit]Hi Zanimum, I don't know if you'll be checking the Latin wikipedia, but I left a message there - I'll repeat it here. I was wondering about your Sesame Street article there...did you machine-translate that, or something? It's definitely not Latin. I don't think it's particularly helpful to add articles like that, since they are pretty much impossible to fix. Adam Bishop 03:33, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Sesame Park
[edit]Hi. I'll have to go back and check what I wrote, but I'm certain I saw an installment of Sesame Park on CBC about 6 months ago. True, it is no longer listed (I just checked the latest TV Guide) so maybe the cancellation was as of 2004? I know I've seen Sesame Park several times on CBC since 2002. Perhaps it was a local broadcast, but I don't think CBC stations do that sort of thing. Cheers! 23skidoo 23:00, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Re:
[edit]I understand, but this has no meaning. As an african-american, I am extremely offended by senseless entries only meant for shock value. I contribute (although I don't have an account) some to wikipedia, and this is just a slam to me, my family, and all others of african descent. I would greatly appreciate it if you put the GNAA (Gay N*gger Association of America) entry up for deletion and let the voting process take its course. Thank you.

Road Runner anon
[edit]Hi. I just got a note from you regarding vandalism on User talk:67.52.108.20 which I use here at work sometimes to edit anonymously, time allowing. That causes me some great concern and I assure you it wasn't me. Do you recall what the problem was? If someone else is messing around on this site via this proxy, rest assured I'll sign in every time from here. Thanks. - Lucky 6.9 16:40, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Hi Lucky, Looking through my "contributions" list, at that point, there was a whole big debacule going on at the Gay Nigger Association of America page. However, as I didn't put my default "Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, merely reporting on the world" statement on the page, it wouldn't be that. I think it was just some nonsense new page, and the level of the warning was simply because of the IPs history. I do believe you, that it wasn't you. Really, until someone on the same range does something else vandalous, there's no real reason to stop editing unsigned in. -- user:zanimum

Your uploaded image
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Bark.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know whether it's released under the GFDL, whether fair use is claimed, or what? Thanks, – Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 01:38, Oct 2, 2004 (UTC)

[edit]Why did you revert the entirety of my edits? Seems like some discussion would be in order, really. I don't mind what you did with the Baja Blast flavour, but both the Pitch Black and Live Wire flavours of Mountain Dew are very much available. Psychiatric categories
[edit]I am currently going through with a major reoganisation of psychiatric categories along the lines of Wikipedia:WikiProject Psychopathology/Review. Some do not have articles on the name but they do have subcategories and articles in them etc. Unfortunately I created the Organic disorder category and then discovered there was already a Memory disorder category which will do for that group. Please delete it. I am also creating orphans by creating new categories and moving the articles to that from the old categories. I don't know a better way of doing that. --CloudSurfer 18:30, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I eventually used Category:Organic disorder so I don't want that removed now. Sorry for the confusion. --CloudSurfer 03:49, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Featured articles
[edit]Zanimum - I (and I alone) choose the featured articles for the main page. If you want something feeatured, you can request it either on my talk page (preferably), WP:TFA, or IRC. →Raul654 02:56, Oct 8, 2004 (UTC)
Congo Civil War
[edit]Thanks for nominating this to be a featured article. But I agree with the objections. Maurreen 05:08, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Any significance to this category? The only article in it is a user talk by IP address (for an apparently persistent vandal). The category shows up in category:Orphaned categories. Can you remove the user talk article from this category? Thanks. Rick Block 00:55, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
template:title
[edit]What was the reason for creating this? I ask because it confuses the heck out of various other templates which use {{{title}}}
as a parameter. I can't find where it is used explicitly because all those templates appear in the "what links here" list. Is there any chance it could be slightly renamed? --Phil | Talk 11:18, Oct 22, 2004 (UTC)
==Sesame Street FAC==
[edit]I personally agree with several of Jeronimo's objections. If there is a seperate article on something, at least list the bare facts, just linking isn't enough. If you work on Jeronimo's objections, I think you can get more support. Good luck! (Feel free to contact me again, I'm busy, so I might not check for edits straight away. Beautiful Quote
[edit]So you know, that's a fantastic quote in the recent Guardian article. It's "like a sausage: you might like the taste of it, but you don't necessarily want to see how it's made". Curious... did the quote make it's debut for the article, or did it arise from a discussion? -- user:zanimum

Wikijunior
[edit]I read your message on the Spanish Wikipedia asking for photos of South America. I live in Argentina, but sadly I don't own a camera yet and probably won't anytime before the first issue of Wikijunior gets ready. I do, however, have a few very nice photos of Bolivia and north of Argentina taken by a friend of mine in a recent trip. A few of them are already uploaded to Wikipedia and you can see them here. The ones of the statue of Che Guevara might be a little too political for the project, but I'm sure you'll like the ones from the Cerro de Siete Colores and perhaps there could be an use for those of the kid. I can upload more pictures if you find them worthy. Please reply. Pilaf 03:19, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Those are fantastic, thank you for them. I'm posting links to them on the project page right now. -- user:zanimum
Duke Of Wellington's Regiment
[edit]I've been uploading some images to the page and noted that the image of the cap badge has somehow been put in an info box with details from further down the page, which is a good effect. How do you create these boxes and how do I edit the one that is there already there, as the first line 'Official name' needs to be moved down below the image as it keeps poping up on the right hand side of it. Richard Harvey 13:17, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Ah, the good old template function. whenever you see something in these -- {{ }} -- it's a template. Just go to the URL bar, type wiki.riteme.site/wiki/, then template:, and whatever was inbetween those brackets. As for the image, I put in a < BR >, and you can add more if you like, to give it more space. -- user:zanimum
Vandal at Work
[edit]Salve, Zanimum!
There's a vandal at work on Richard Nixon, to wit, User:207.74.115.22. You previously warned him about being blocked if he continued with his course, but he's back, putting vulgarities into the Nixon article. Could you do something with him? Ave! PedanticallySpeaking 17:16, Nov 9, 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. He's serving 500 days. -- user:zanimum
Did you know
[edit]I'm not sure wether you're familiar with the section, but I'd like to ask you to check Template talk:Did you know. You updated just one fact when there was whole list of ones waiting to be included. No obligations, of course, just to let you know. I've taken the liberty of updating the other 3 facts. [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 18:01, Nov 10, 2004 (UTC)
- Oh, wow, I didn't know. Is this recent, or have people just not bothered to let me know in the past? Thanks. -- user:zanimum
Re: PartyWagon
[edit]Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but do you think those two are one and the same? Destroying the Community Portal so close together time wise. -- user:zanimum
- Yeah.. I jumped to the same conclusion. ;) Even if he isn't the same person, he certainly knows enough about the project. "Anti Tim Starling Day" indeed. I say we block him the next time he tries to deface a page. -- Hadal 19:27, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- BTW, PartyWagon's now serving 500 days. -- user:zanimum
South America
[edit]You say on the talk for wikijunior/keiki that the spanish people on the spanish wikipedia suggested a bunch of pics. Could you give me a link to where that was, or post it on talk wikijunior:south america. Cheers. The bellman 10:29, 2004 Nov 12 (UTC)
- Not really a bunch, but enough I guess. They're at User:Pilaf/Pictures. Haven't got too many responses on the other Village Pumps, likely due to machine translated messages. Then again, there is a fair amount of French speaker that have listed themselves as being interested, so presume that's how they found out. And oy! That user page is confusing at first glance! -- user:zanimum
- Thanks. Whats confusing about my user page? that it resembles the front page? ive now changed the colour scheme so its no longer quite so similar. The bellman 22:57, 2004 Nov 12 (UTC)

Main page vandal block
[edit]It would probably be better if you shortened that IP block to something more in terms of weeks, since we have no way of knowing how many people use it to access Wikipedia or when it will change hands. Blocking anonymous vandals for a length of time is more useful as a temporary deterrent. silsor 18:49, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC)
- See Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/November 16, 2004 for the rest of this conversation. -- user:zanimum

Apollo
[edit]In keeping with the policy of NPOV, it is important to note on the Apollo page that what is written there is not uncontested fact (and not burried somewhere deep in the article either). I think it is fair to have a warning on the top of the page. Trollminator 18:56, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
James Stokes VC
[edit]Why did you create James Stokes, then blank the page? It's a good article. -- user:zanimum

Reno 911
[edit]Make sure you look at the "What links here" section before listing a thing as being out of context. While both of the articles you recently listed as being out of context were, a few words in each put them into context. -- user:zanimum
- So when you edited Captain Duane Hernandez, why couldn't you include some context?? :-) JFW | T@lk 21:25, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- I did. Reno 911 is the context, all the context that it needs. -- user:zanimum
- OK, I meant Lieutenant Suzy Kim. I doubt all these characters need special articles. Can't we simply redirect the whole kaboodle to Reno 911? JFW | T@lk 21:32, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Which I've also put into context. I am doubting we need article on these minor characters, as they had fairly limited runs, but this is a completely different and more justified reason to delete. -- user:zanimum
