Re: Tram

[edit]

Don't think there's any air-conditioned tram car. Do you have any picture of them, or their numbers? Thanks. — Instantnood 22:00, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take note the next time I ride one. I do live near the tram terminus and I've taken an air-coniditioned tram. Zachkchk 03:48, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do remember. Would be exciting if there's really such a tram. :-P — Instantnood 11:09, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So today I saw a tram - 170 - which i thought was the air-conditioned tram. I guess it's just a newer model, without air con. Zachkchk 13:30, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Heard there's an air-conditioned tram named 171, but it didn't passed the testing and has never been running on streets. — Instantnood 14:49, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This 170 could very easily be outfitted with an air con.Zachkchk 03:50, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hong Kong Island

[edit]

I don't think so. The broadcasting press is using British spellings, so as the SCMP, the English-language newspaper with the largest circulation. Have you got any evidence to show that the SCMP is going to switch to American spellings? Thanks. — Instantnood 22:06, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to let you know Instahood, but the SCMP is in the throes of fully switching to American spellings. I won't argue about it. But you'll just see the changes in a few weeks time. Of course, it may just be a rumor, but my sources are credible enough on it. And surely you agree that we should spend our time fleshing out HK stubs and cleaning up HK articles that are in desperate need, rather than squabble about spellings variations? Zachkchk 03:47, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright.. let's wait until the switch actually happens. I'm interested to know what sources you're having on hand. Meanwhile, it should be noted that British spellings are still used predominantly in classrooms (well, except the UST) and publications. — Instantnood 11:09, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you're certainly right about that. Zachkchk 11:46, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
