Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:South21.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:South2.jpg. The copy called Image:South2.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 23:32, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi, thanks for uploading this image, however it appears to be a WP:COPYVIO, since only the copyright holder (in this case, the Univ. of North Carolina) can freely license it. Your label "created by Zachary Swan and released into the public domain" would therefore not be a valid free license since only UNC can make such a release. A Fair-Use assertion, instead of a PD release, would be the way to go, I think. JGHowes talk - 17:55, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notice. I'm sort of new at this and not entirely certain if I've now legalized the photo according to wikipedia's standards based on the free-use assertion rule(due to its somewhat convoluted nature). I do appreciate it.

Notice

The file File:N2736053 31667066 8383.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

orphaned image, no encyclopedic use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
