WikiProjects

[edit]

A WP:WikiProject is a group of volunteer editors who are interested in the same kinds of things on Wikipedia. You might be interested in looking at WikiProject Chemicals or WikiProject Chemistry. Their discussion pages are good places to ask questions and help other editors. WhatamIdoing (talk) 02:45, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

[edit]

And welcome. Maybe you can help on other projects. My main suggestion is to replace or at least supplement your references with more general ones that give nonexperts more of an overview. The general guideline is at WP:SECONDARY, which urge references to more digested sources vs journal refs. Wikipedia has no aspirations to become a journal like ChemRev. We supposedly only use primary refs for historically important papers or when a review/book is lacking. The other suggestion is to include article titles and especially doi's. The latter are tedious to obtain but make the references much more useful (hyperlinked). General advice on figures: leave language out so that the figure is transportable to other language wiki's, watch font uniformity, and minimize white space. You may hear from other editors that are more focused on organic chem. The linking within the article and the rewording will be handled over the course of time, no reason to sweat that. Good luck. --Smokefoot (talk) 03:14, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
