Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for File:Keppelstation.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Keppelstation.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 02:45, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Keppelstation.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Keppelstation.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at North South MRT Line, without citing a reliable source using an inline citation that clearly supports the material. The burden is on the person wishing to keep in the material to meet these requirements, as a necessary (but not always sufficient) condition. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Class455 (talk|stand clear of the doors!) 10:26, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello LAi zhen kang, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to One-north MRT Station have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not copy and paste content from http://www.sgtrains.com/network-ccl.html#CC23 Thank you. Thank you. Lemongirl942 (talk) 11:48, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from History of Singapore into Singapore. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 13:29, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
- Other than giving proper attribution, copying from another article often results in issues like undefined and duplicate refs in the target article, as happened in the Singapore article. In the future, please check that the refs you are copy-and-pasting are properly defined (not just named) and aren't creating unnecessary duplicates in the target article. That way, other editors won't have to hunt down the references you named but didn't define. Bennv3771 (talk) 10:17, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
- By the way, thanks for taking the time to improve Singapore-related articles. It is appreciated. Bennv3771 (talk) 10:38, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
I was wondering about defining references and sources in the edits until you told me.
Thanks for your appreciation.--LAi zhen kang (talk) 10:41, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Your addition to Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore) has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. This is your final warning. Further copyright violations will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:22, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing this out. I always forget to write in my own words when adding content, but I am just trying to improve the article as much as I can. Sorry for copyrighting. --LAi zhen kang (talk) 09:40, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
Necessity of station codes
[edit]Honestly, is there a reason to put the station codes into the article body? I feel that they make the article hard to read. R22-3877 (talk) 03:04, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
MRT station layout
[edit]Based on your post here and looking at your discussion with Davey2010, it appears that the section of "Station layout" has been removed from many of the MRT station articles because, according to Davey2010, they are stated in the operator's website. However, a quick glance at both [SMRT's website] and [SMRT's other website] and it is quite obvious that SMRT does not publish such info, hence the need for such a section.
Although I do apologise for the City Hall MRT station edit, confused editors (like me lol) may want to reinstate the section because they see that a huge part of the article was removed.
Is this just a misunderstanding or is there a reason behind this huge removal? I'm quite confused right now so I'll just stay out of editing MRT station articles for the time being. JaventheAldericky (talk) 15:13, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi JaventheAlderick. You don't need to apologise for that edit. I think you would better contact Davey2010 directly for clearer reasons. I am quite convinced that the station layouts are not needed, as wikipedia is not really a brouchure or a guide; unless the station is a maze like what Davey said. There are still other ways you can improve though on the MRT Stations; try to at least dig up some news reports that mentioned these stations or some controversy that happened.--LAi zhen kang (talk) 10:38, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi. Sorry for asking, but while I was looking through User:Davey2010's talk page, I saw this, in particular this:
I have gone through wiki on overseas train stations and found there were no such sections.
- Have you looked through the stations of South Korea? Take Seoul Station as an example; it has a "station layout" section.
- Hi. Sorry for asking, but while I was looking through User:Davey2010's talk page, I saw this, in particular this:
Cheers. JaventheAldericky (talk) 16:12, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
- Actually I only think it is neccessary only when a station is terribly complicated. I still don't understand why Davey deleted the same section in Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, where it has 5 levels with 3 stations. Maybe you can appeal to him on that.--LAi zhen kang (talk) 00:29, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Singapore, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Marshall (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Mrt Station importance (WP trains)
[edit]I noticed that you have been changing the importance of some MRT Stations from 'low' to 'mid'. As per the scale from WP:RR mid importance is for things like railway lines (North South MRT Line) and majority of Stations are Low. Unless you have a significant reason justifying its increase, please do not change the rating. Thanks - 1.02 editor (talk) 04:33, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
- Oh. Okay. Thanks for telling me. I thought it can changed anyhow. LOL.--ZKang123 (talk) 03:36, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
- Technically you can change it to anything except for FA and GA, but its just misleading. Also, your 'C' class ratings are a bit too generous. For example, this is a stub-start class as it lacks much substantial info and needs a refimprove whereas a C should be adequately referenced and easy to read, providing an adequate amount of reliable sources but may have gaps in it and needs some cleanup.-1.02 editor (talk) 03:55, 19 November 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
Sorry for not responding to the block for a long time, but I have been busy recently. I am deeply sorry for the copyright infringements and I will promise not to bend these rules again. My intention was to expand the Singapore's MRT articles, but this resulted into copying chunks of material from other non-free sources. I will thus then focus on other articles and improve on them, such as re-organising sections of such articles, adding relevant citations and pictures, and expand them if necessary (without breaking the copyright infringements). Again, I apologies for my past actions.ZKang123 (talk) 05:32, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Decline reason:
In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please address the following questions in your next unblock appeal:
- What is copyright?
- How is Wikipedia licenced?
- Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
- Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
- How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?
Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yunshui 雲水 09:22, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
Copyright, in my own words, is a legal right given to the author for his authority over how his/her material is to be used and distributed under a given legal system. It is the intellectual property of the author. Content in Wikipedia is free-use, under the CC BY-SA and GFDL license. Non-free content may only be used when there is no free-use equivalent available, used a little as possible, published and distributed outside Wikipedia and at least used in one Wikipedia article. It is not allowed to excessively use chunks of copyrighted materials. For re-using material within Wikipedia, a link must be provided in the 'edit summary' box. For the last question, I will paraphrase what is written on a non-free source (if it is necessary for the article as stated in the copyright policy, otherwise I will not lift it), and use my own words as far as possible.
Accept reason:
Good enough for me. I have lifted the block. Yamla (talk) 12:57, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
[edit]Hello, ZKang123. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Scorpia (Fictional International Organisation) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Scorpia (Fictional International Organisation), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It consists almost solely of plot (see WP:ALLPLOT) and original research (see WP:OR. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Use the edit summary
[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Singapore, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. ~Anachronist (talk) 05:37, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- Apologies, but I feel we also have to cut down some content from the SG page. I think there should be some agreement beforehand.--ZKang123 (talk) 06:43, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. If you remove a large swath like that, you need to explain why, either in an edit summary or in a proposal on the talk page (especially if you are removing cited sources). Otherwise, a large removal without explanation looks like vandalism, and someone will simply revert it. If you explain it, then the edit is more likely to stick. ~Anachronist (talk) 17:20, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.
If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.
