Whenever I try to create a citation and save it, I get an error message that there is a problem with the server. This is incredibly frustrating since I have all of my citations ready to go, but this page was just flagged for not having any. ZCF47 (talk) 18:36, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- Server problems are rare and usually fixed within minutes. If this error pops up repeatedly, I doubt it's a server problem. Can you give us the exact text of the error message? Is it possibly about a link being blacklisted? That would be a problem that could repeatedly occur if you try to make a specific edit. Another possible issue is that when you add external links you may be asked to fill out a CAPTCHA (an anti-spam measure). Huon (talk) 18:56, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

The text of the error message is: "Error saving data to server: Empty server response." This happens whenever I try to add a reference through visual editing. I don't see where I would fill out a CAPTCHA. Also, now that I've added references manually, can I remove the flag at the top of the Tracy Rector page? ZCF47 (talk) 19:05, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- That indeed sounds like a bug; I'll report it (see Wikipedia:Bug reports and feature requests). You already have removed the deletion tag, but the references need more work. Firstly, several are not the reliable independent sources Wikipedia content should be based on. Secondly, entire paragraphs still don't cite any references whatsoever. - The error already has been reported: phab:T52356. Sorry for the inconvenience. Huon (talk) 20:00, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

The article Tracy Rector has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Ahecht (TALK
