Replaceable fair use Image:Heather stevens.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Heather stevens.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry 03:22, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of User:Youngandrestless
[edit]A tag has been placed on User:Youngandrestless, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion G2.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:User:Youngandrestless|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Editing Soap Opera Articles
[edit]If you are interested in improving articles relating to soap operas, you should consider joining the Wikipedia:WikiProject Soap Operas. —Evaglow 04:35, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
{{unblock|I'm very sorry for violating the image rules. I followed the directions exactly. I said that they were copyrighted and I identified their source and reasons for uploading them. I'm very sorry if I misunderstood in any way. I promise you I did read the rules carefully. I respect Wikipedia fully. I merely wanted to improve these pages because of my love for soap operas. It's wonderful to have the opportunity to contribute this way. Again I love Wikipedia, I respect it's rules, and I do understand them. I'll e happy to avoid uploading images for awhile but I would appreciate the opportunity to be able to edit again.}}
- I'm willing to unblock you on this basis. Hang on while I get some input from the blocking admin. --Haemo 02:17, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

- Hello, Youngandrestless. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience, it seems I got myself mixed up between two concurrent cases. I have unblocked you. There is a bit of an issue with "found on the web somewhere" images, but nothing I think you can't fix with a bit of guidance from people familiar with the fair use criteria; we need to have a proper rationale for use of each image, I'm sure you can work that out with no problem at all. Again, apologies for what was an error on my part, I should have just left a polite notice. Guy (Help!) 11:49, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Taglines
[edit]Hello. Please do not add taglines per WP:MOSFILMS. They are unimportant. Alientraveller (talk) 16:56, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Because every fan has their favorites they consider a supercouple, we have to be pretty strict about who we add to the list. We have to have a reliable source, and blogs don't count unfortunately. AniMate 23:37, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Kevin Fisher
[edit]Why do you keep adding that section back to the Kevin Fisher article? Most of that information belongs in the introduction. The last sentence doesn't belong at all because it is purely opinion. Also the storyline section belongs in present tense. Rocksey (talk) 15:46, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- If you want to reply to me do it here or on my talk page, not on my user page. Insulting me isn't necessary. I don't pretend to know everything about Wikipedia, I was just giving you a heads up on the little part I do know. About the Kevin Fisher article, that stuff does belong in the introduction and I do see other character pages like that. Maybe you're only looking at the Young and the Restless pages which are mostly a mess. Here are some examples Bianca Montgomery, Greenlee Smythe, Kendall Hart Slater, and Pauline Fowler. A good introduction is supposed to summarize the entire article. Kevin Fisher's relationships and crimes are already written in his character box and in the storyline section of his article. If they're going to be repeated anywhere it would be the introduction. Rocksey (talk) 20:15, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Just a reminder, plot summaries are supposed to be written in present tense per the Wikipedia guideline WP:TENSE. Also, no contractions within articles. Example "isn't" should be "is not". I went ahead and fixed that in the Kevin Fisher article. Rocksey (talk) 21:45, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
