Help with userboxes

[edit]

Please help clean up my userboxes so that they fit together like puzzle pieces. I like the Roman Catholic one first, the travel ones last, and the Atlanta, snow, and olympics ones to be somewhere in the beginning in that order. Thank you.

Userpage

[edit]

For making your user page look nice, see: Wikipedia:User page design center. You can also "clone/borrow/steal" the code from someone else's user page. Just ensure that you change it enough that it does not look like you are trying to impersonate the other user. Wikipedia:User pages is a good guide as to what kind of things are appropriate in user space. And when you use the work someone else has created, in the edit summary please attribute the work to them by naming the user you copied the content from. If you want to add userboxes you can start here: Wikipedia:Userboxes. There are also many, many customized userboxes floating around on user pages in the Wikipedia, if you find one you fancy just copy the code from the page. If you are further interested in defining yourself and your style there is also the Wikipedia:WikiFauna. Best, w.carter-Talk 21:54, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing

[edit]

Since you have put a box on your page that you are a teenager, I think it would good if you read this page: Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors, it's sort of an easy and quick guide to things you need to know about editing, getting help and other things. :) w.carter-Talk 22:22, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, YoSoyUnHamster. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions! I'm W.carter, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.
Some pages of helpful information to get you started:
  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia

Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism
  Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page, and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles

  Perform maintenance tasks
Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.

The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your userpage.

Sincerely, w.carter-Talk 21:56, 26 January 2015 (UTC)   (Leave me a message)[reply]

How do you take a page out of a category? My user page is in some categories that it shouldn't be. YoSoyUnHamster (talk) 15:50, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Those categories are added automatically when you add an infobox to the page. If you want your userpage to be removed from these categories just remove the userbox that corresponds to the category/categories you want removed. Everymorning talk 01:49, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Greeting!

[edit]

Sorry you are running into problems here, YoSoyUnHamster. Wikipedia has a lot of policies and guidelines that govern what kinds of content can be posted here.

Another editor suggested you visit the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory and see if there are any WikiProjects you might be interested in contributing to. It's an easy way to find editors with similar interests. For example, going to Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory/Culture#Media shows you the WikiProject for TV and Film which are further divided into projects and task forces for particular shows or genres of movies (an example would be Wikipedia:WikiProject Animation/Animated films work group). I think you might have more success if you find articles to work on that you are interested in.

But please know that ANYONE's edits can be reverted or changed by other editors. The edits you make might undo edits of other editors who worked on an article before you. Try not to take this personally, it's a matter of learning Wikipedia guidelines and appropriate content. Every editor here has been reverted, it's how Wikipedia works. Happy editing! Liz Read! Help with edits

[edit]

I noticed that you posted something about feeling unwanted here on Wikipedia. If you want to be wanted and have lots of fun editing, go to the lists of stub-class articles, pick out some that look interesting to you, and improve them! If an article is a stub, it means that it's needed and on a notable topic, but nobody has had any interest or time to improve it. ☺ You can help fill the void!

Add:Here are some helpful links you may want to check out:

I have a subpage showing Wikimarkup, which you can reach through my userpage. 😊 Let me know if you have any questions!

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, YoSoyUnHamster. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Salud!

[edit]

I salute you for laying down rules for your talk page! I believe more editors should stand up for their right to fair treatment w/o browbeating. We all have to learn. Error-correction can be achieved, and is absolutely more effective, when we all assume good faith and act accordingly. 'Nuff said. rags (talk) 18:20, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
